As a car and customer experience design expert, I find another epic fail in the update for CT. This new ergonomic left flywheel steering education / huge line of sight issue to radial scroll or right hand touch to change wiper speeds is a HUGE safety concern and line of sight issue. I'm so surprised that this was allowed out the door without user testing or CT testing.
In heavy rains, this is a huge impairment assuming CT drivers are comfortable with a learned behavior of tapping the wiper button with right hand and then using left hand to adjust. Totally bad design and ergonomically a concern for drivers that cannot use arms abidextriously while navigating impaired driving. This is almost like deflating BC in deep water if you were scuba diving. Try teaching one hand to do one action while the other performs another while looking straight ahead. WOW

Disagree. I'll take the current setup every day as compared to trying to figure out how to operate one these going down the highway. Everytime I grab a rental it becomes a shit show just trying to wash bugs off.

Just takes time. I will never go back to the old ways. Love this truck and what Tesla has done with operations of the vehicle while driving and not. It's been since February that I've driven my other car that I'm trying to sell and wow!!!! It's like driving a Ford Model T compared to the CT. Steering wheel feels broken, those stick things I have to use on both sides of wheel, gas pedal response, braking, noisy thing that I don't want to ever get into again. LOL.

agreed. but this doesnt require line of sight impairment from straight ahead focus to traffic. I equally do not like this experience. In the previous version of CT the wiper controls mirrored the same as the Model Y which was easy to reach, and unintrusive that required a glance to adjust.

I COMPLETLY agree with you. There are a LOT of safety concerns and design flaws with this truck. I am used to different arrangements as I used to build custom cars for a living and have done lots of R&D for many companies. Tesla took the easy road to save a few bucks here and there, including the lack of a digital rea view mirror, and dashboard instrument cluster, the center stack is a real distraction. Also the steering ratio gains need to be adjusted, because they are WAY out of whack, the high gain above 20mph is simply dangerous and the truck is very twitchy, if they turned the gain down and really attenuated the RWS it would stabilize the truck big-time, right now any tiny movement in the steering wheel creates over exaggerated movement. Also would be nice to increase the RWS angle below 10mph to help park this thing in tight spots. All wishful thinking, as Tesla will never do these things, they are only focused on selling selling selling with the FSD hype.

Almosthuman, you are taking to 2 people who are or have been part of the professional aspect of the automotive world. I have had 1000's of hours in R&D, 1000's of hours on the dyno, 1000's of hours on the track.... I have built competition cars that have won multiple times. I have helped multiple manufacturers fix and refine their products. I know WTF I'm talking about. Cybertrucks have huge issues, and yes I own a Beast so I'm speaking from experience. I unfortunately bought sight and driving unseen, if I had the opportunity I would have never bought it, the product is still too raw and unrefined (hence everything is BETA)....

Okay

Edit: I don’t want to argue about individual feelings on things. I’m not saying you are or anyone are wrong but I don’t feel the same way.
That's what this is, and individual opinion. While you and I may be ok with the UI/UX, others aren't and that's fine.

Yeah super valid. I replied to the other post too quickly. I don’t have experience designing thing of that nature.

I agree with this. The only rebuttal I have is, is that from a standpoint of having lots of experience in this field, I know what should and can be refined/fixed to improve for EVERYONE, but some might think things as they are, are just fine and that's ok as we all have different expectations, mine just happen to be high for a vehicle of this magnitude and at this price point. BTW, my current stable of vehicles just eclipsed 1m, and I've owned in excess of 250 vehicles. Anyways just my observations each to their own I suppose, I just want better for all of us.
