I've had my CT since July 24. It's finally getting warm again and the cool setting on the seat seems much weaker than I remember from last summer. I can clearly hear the fan, but I can hardly feel anything. Last summer I seem to remember that I could clearly feel the cooling effect.

Anyone else? How could it not work if I hear the fan?

Same here and others have posted as well that the cooling sucks, the heat is great though. Yours may have changed, but mine has always been weak, although I have never posed the issue to tesla.

As I understand it, the ventilation on CT seats sucks air rather than blows it so you shouldn’t really be able to “feel” anything but a less hot seat

It's true that they suck air in, but I used to be able to feel the effect and now it's almost like its in my imagination because I can't really feel anything.

Edited to remove post, as I gave completely wrong info.

They use a blower to “suck” supply air from under the seat and push it through the seat. You should be able to feel airflow out from the perforations in the seating material. It’s just ambient air from the cabin so it’s not “cooled”, where is why they use the term “ventilated” it’s is definitely not a vacuum, sucking in air through the seating surface.

If you look under the seat, you should see the hardware. It works similar to this general non-Tesla diagram.

Interesting. Didn’t realize there were two types of ventilated/cooled seat mechanisms: sucking air through the seat or blowing air out of the seat.

Asked Grok and it’s saying CT using the suction method instead of blowing. Not sure it that’s correct. If only I could easily find if Munro tore down the seats and noted which method the seats use…

It pulls air into the seat.

Fan unit might have gotten dislodged...
You can test with a piece of tissue or paper towel. It should stick to the seat back when the venting us active. Seat bottom is harder to test, but a tissue held above it might give indication of functionality.

I stand corrected. I could have sworn when I looked at engineering diagrams that these seats were the type to push air through the membrane surface. I went out and messed around with the seats for myself, along with knowing Mongo knows his stuff, I shall edit my original post.

I will say that my passenger seat feels like it cools better than the driver, though I don't make a habit of sitting over on that side much.

It's fun finally having a vehicle to muck about with/ test things on ?
