I would say that BoomTroopers work is not just for us on this forum any more.... Looks like our friend Randy is going a little more main stream.

Congratulations

Wow, that video is showing up everywhere and it kind of makes me cringe at how bad it was and is getting so much use. My 2nd video is light years better and I'd say I wish I knew now what I did when I made that first one on a whim. It's a learning experience for all of us and sometimes it doesn't start pretty, haha! Thanks for the link!

I was reading somewhere yesterday, maybe on another channel that is covering the construction as well, that someone may think so due to some lights being setup on the site. I recall someone that crews were working as late as 11pm one night. My guess is that they have to be working 24/7 as I can barely keep up with the changes so i've definitely had to start going more frequently or else I could miss something interesting to see (like the moisture barrier installation) or significant during the process. The speed and size of all the sections of land together make it a little tasking.

I’d be willing to bet “land restoration” is a red-tape loophole that allows big projects to get a quick start. They were probably told that the new construction permitting process will take X months, but land restoration permits only take X days. And you can do all the same development while you wait for the construction permits. Just be sure to preserve some trees <wink wink>.

Land restoration does sound accurate when you look at Google maps historically of that area. It looks like when they built the toll road, there was a tremendous amount of excavation and movement of dirt to elevate the roadbed. That would explain how come there are so many ditches filled with water now. Here's a Google map image from 12/31/2001. Big difference from now.

I foresee maybe a HQ's and an R&D Center west of the highway.

You are so spot on with this! This area is covered with hills that are obviously manmade from some previous activity and is pretty much unusable for economic purposes unless someone comes in and cleans everything up and restores it. I'll have some videos out soon showing more of this exact sort of thing.

Tesla may have a few problems.

The protest movement currently engulfing many cities across the country is heavily anti-capitalism and what better symbolism of capitalism is there at the moment than Tesla.

Also, the UAW has a bone to pick with Tesla. They've been trying to unionize Tesla for quite some time without success.

The construction of the Tesla factory could become a target with protests and even vandalism and sabotage of the construction equipment.

Austin is very Left-leaning and this will be a dilemma for them. Do they support the protesters(and UAW) or Tesla?

I am at wit's ends to even guess how it will all play out.
I was looking for new videos of the construction when I ran across this political statement, which I find: (1) off topic, and (3) incorrect. I would prefer to see this forum be about Tesla and Cybertruck and not be politically divisive. Though you are entitled to your political (etc.) beliefs and values, please keep them to yourself. These movements have no bearing on the Cybertruck as far as we know. These movements are ‘not’ anti capitalist. The United States is a capitalist country. All of us. Why try to associate a political movement with an economic philosophy? And unions were created to protect workers. Are you saying that you are against workers having a fair income and benefits? Sure, unions have had their fair share of corruption - there seems no shortage of corruption in this/any country, but the concept is valid; there needs to be a check against unbridled greed. And Austin is a great place but hardly ‘very’ left leaning. I visited there one Easter Sunday a few years back and it was like walking into a Norman Rockwell painting (which I actually associate with and like). Austin might seem liberal to Texans but to someone from a mid western college town it seemed pretty conservative to me at the time.

It is the divisiveness in this country which is creating the uncertainty you, me, and everyone feel. I bet we all share a lot more in terms of our basic values than this statement would suggest. Maybe we should focus on that, and then the outcome will probably be ok. In the meantime, I enjoy the videos and look forward to my CT tank.

We live in a mixed system which is part capitalist and socialist. Most of the protests are NOT related to socialism vs capitalism but something that is at the core of America: all mankind created equal. I think there is a Norman Rockwell painting for that as well. Tesla is not a regressive company and in many ways enabling the dreams of progressives who have wanted environmental sustainability since forever. But with any company there will be disagreements about labor vs management and in Tesla's case, the occasional unfortunate statements Musk makes. I recently saw an interview where they asked Musk "trump or Biden" and he refused to commit or support either of them. So Musk is aware that picking sides is divisive and counterproductive to his goals. We all will have a brighter future: Electric, cleaner, fairer and inclusive. How we get there is sped by our better angels.
This article gives a fair overview of the "protests" Tesla had.

Musk is running a business... why is everything about politics today? Business and politics are separate. Conservative, progressives, libertarian, socialist, democrat, Republican, who the f cares. If someone makes a great product you like... support it. Stop making business political. Sorry for my rant, but crazy irrational people are driving normal Americans nuts. ?
