lol, I got my update a couple days ago (at night) actually...

It sucks for the others that haven't received it yet. I am curious if a majority of the people that haven't received it yet don't have their update setting set to "advanced"?
Mine is set to advanced. I plug in every night (scheduled departure time), and it's literally 7' from a Wi-Fi point.

Well, at least my PowerShare and UWC are installed. It isn't backing anything up yet, but it's installed. Now, I'm just waiting for someone at Tesla to manually push the update to it.

Still haven't received any of the autopark releases, all due to I'm using a Android cell phone? That really sucks! Apparently, Teslas is using Google's map, at least as the data source, but Google doesn't fast track Tesla app approval.

Roger that, I was early with the last one, .11, but watching the stats on Tessie and TeslaFi and there has been little to no activity in the past 24 hours...no visible downloads.

I got autopark Monday night and I have android phone. The hands free frunk opening feature is the only android problem right now and that is mainly due to slow turnaround times for Android to incorporate the changes tesla makes per notateslaapp.com.

Autopark works great with android.

Your update will come.

The hands free trunk/frunk not being on Android aren't due to slow turnaround times for new App releases. Not that Tesla has divulged this, but there's something different about Androids with UWB vs. Apple. Maybe it's because so few Android phones have it? (the regular Samsung Galaxies and the low cost versions do not), but it's been out since around April on Apple and multiple app updates have come out for Android that don't include that.

And earlier today the "rolling out" icon was flashing, from Tessie, for 2024.32.5.3 and it is now dormant:

Actually release timing of when your car gets the update is based on what ring you are in, so yes many people get updates earlier than others because of their ring status, people like social influencers, Tesla Owners Club officers, etc. get updates first. However, even getting an update first/early doesn't guarantee the feature in the update will be usable if the app on your phone isn't up to date to make use of the feature. ASS being the latest example where Apple users can use it but Android users have to wait.

Rings are not based on what phone software you are on but rather who you are such as employee, influencer, club officer, joe average, etc. What I would suggest would be that before pushing it out to the first ring that the phone software be available to use it. That's simply a coordination effort between the phone software developers and the car software developers. I don't have the breakdown numbers of Tesla owners who are Android vs Apple but let's take a look at some stats shall we!

First the source: iPhone vs Android User Stats (2024 Data) (explodingtopics.com)
It appears that in 2024 in the United States that iOS is ahead 59% to 41%. On a World Wide basis that is reversed and Android has 71% to Apple's 29%. So if Tesla were to account for what OS its owners have, even in the US they would be alienating over 40% of their owners by serving up "Apple-First" on a regular basis. On a world-wide basis they'd be ticking off an even larger %.

I looked at several sites that track Tesla software releases and found only 1 instance (NFC support) where Android users got a feature first.

If you are going to release software, you'd like to get it into the hands of a broad spectrum of your user base to uncover any issues you might have. Tesla "should" be using confidence scores before allowing software to progress through the rings from employee to influencer to club officers, etc. on outward to broader and broader audiences. The problem is that Tesla doesn't wait for enough feedback/confidence scores across the entire user population if only 59% of the population can actually use/test the new capability. Tesla is playing fast and loose with software updates and someday that could bite them in the ASS (pun intended) as it did to CrowdStrike when either confidence scores aren't used or only a subset of your user population is analyzed.

Apologies for going so far afield, but software distribution, upgrades and autonomous endpoint management is my area of specialty and when I see anomalies like this consistently happen it makes me ask "why" and what could/should be done about it. So in the end, while "fairness" is a noble goal, I'm actually more concerned about the process being used and the ramifications of that process.

(BTW I over-simplified that variables used to define each ring at Tesla, they've never released that information but it is clear that at least 2 factors are involved in what ring you are located in and that's who you are, and what hardware you are running, I'm sure there could be other factors as well that influence which ring you go into and whether or not you are ever moved between rings)
I thought it was just me showing a little leg to the cameras in the garage all these years that got me the early updates. You are telling me I must be in the inner ring. Wow. How do I get out of it?
