I had this and I sprayed silicone lubricant up and down the track and it hasn’t happened since.
Mine went in the shop for this and what they had to do was to replace the rails. So I think your solution is on track (pun intended) but may ultimately be a temporary fix.

Okay, I'm dumb, but how do I get the non-driver doors to unlock? My driver door unlocks automagically, but I can't open the other doors? I've looked at all the settings, and can't figure it out.

do you swipe up/close the tesla app? I find that it only happens to me when my app is closed. If it’s working and open in the background I have no issues with this.
Tried. It seems to do it when my phone hasn't been used in a while. I think it may be the bluetooth going to sleep to save energy. I can't seem to find a solution to turn this off. Still looking.

It's been working non-stop for the last year for me.

Be aware that if you use a key card to unlock it, it will disable walk-away lock, even if you have your phone with you. The next time it unlocks due to the proximity of your phone, walk away lock will be enabled again.

Inconsistent behavior could indicate you have not given the Tesla app the correct permissions or powersave settings and Bluetooth is going into powersave mode. Disable that.
That's good info that you have to share about the key card. Bravo ?
I'm going to look into "powersave" settings. Nothing has been obvious so far. I have an old Galaxy S10 also, I'm sure it doesn't have the most current BT radio firmware.

Has anyone noticed that with the latest update of the cyber truck the walk away door lock is now working intermittently?
Nope works perfect. What kind of phone and did it recently update? Check to see it didn't drop or turn off BT

Would by nice if Tesla has a keychain dongle...or perhaps they already have? Hanging a credit card off my keychain is not practical.

Ha! I have you beat there, I have a Galaxy S8+ that is over 7 years old and still going strong. It works flawlessly with all four of our Tesla.

It's important to realize that Bluetooth signals can't go through your body so the phone must be carried such that is presented such that it is facing the receiver in the Cybertruck. The over 50% water in your body absorbs the signal.

I carry a backup keycard in my wallet. I have only had to use it around the house when I didn't have my phone on me but it works great, I just swipe my whole wallet across the B pillar and it unlocks/locks.

Don't you carry a credit card? The last thing I would want is to have a keycard dangling from a keychain! If you get the bluetooth/powersave/sleep settings right on your phone, and keep the Tesla App active, you will only need your keycard if your phone dies or is stolen/lost.
