What are the chances the 240 mile range battery will be upgraded?

What are the chances Elon will cut we cheep skates who opted for the least expensive battery option an upgrade from 240 miles to 280 or 300 at time of production?
My wife's 2018 Model 3 came with the "Long Range" battery at time of purchase set at 310 I believe, since then the battery has been upgraded free to 325 or thereabouts.

I don't know what you're asking. Is it about reservations?

When your number comes up, you'll be able to configure your reservation in any way that's available.

If the way you chose isn't available, Tesla will try to encourage you into one that is.

The specifications say “250 miles+”, so you will probably get more. If not right away then later in the free upgrade. Still, nobody knows yet. The lack of new info is killing us. ??

First, Tesla is saying 250+ miles of range for the low-end model. If the single motor is ever produced, it will probably 6 months or a year into production. I think there's a chance it never gets made, but there's a definite fleet need for a short range 2WD truck. As a Tesla investor I hope they get the single motor to mass production ASAP. The business world needs trucks!

I would bet that the eventual range of the $40k truck (if it gets made) will be 265 to 275. Maybe not on day one though.

Well, I'm hanging on to my reservation anyway. Good things come from Tesla!

I believe it will be brought more toward 300+ miles in production. The info that we know on the CT points to it being paired with the same equipment of the semi (well to be fair pretty much all the cars share core components now).

The semi surprised Elon and team so much that they determined the range could be dramatically increased from their expectations. This being said, I could see them saying something like "wow we noticed we can push another 20-30% of efficiency out of the CT's original design!"

Plus, even though there are not as many of us base model holders vs the mid range, think about this: as a robotaxi, the difference in $10k for another 50 miles and dual motor is pointless. It would require significant amount of time to offset the few minutes of downtime charging the base model vs the mid range. those 50 miles. So, where will ROBOFLEET operators turn? Base models! That will dramatically increase their demand as the RT platform evolves.
