The fact that we are on an electric tuck forum talking about gas/diesel generators to charge them is freaking hilarious ?
You think you're getting a kick out of this? Should have seen the guys on the drilling rig when I was forced to charge of one of the on site 32kW diesel generators for a couple of months in the middle of Kentucky. They were having a field day with me.

Ask them what would happen if they siphoned diesel from the generator to refuel their trucks ?

(Especially if it's off road dyed)

Tested both 120 and 240 outlets, just remember to lower the amps on ct main screen so it doesn’t error or kill your generator by having 48a set by default start with like 8

this setup can get 13mi/hr for 7 hours with gas at $3.50gal equals 25 bucks for 91 miles.

I am personally 100% unwilling to burn diesel. From what I have seen, the best option at this point is the Goal Zero 4000 Pro with an assortment of solar setup in various ways. The goal Zero is the best one because it is rated for 3000 watts of high power solar input up to 40 amps and 275 watts low power up to 12 amps. It can take this charge while discharging 3600 watts constant at 30 amps. It can also except additional tanks of 4k lifepro batteries up to I think 18k total. No other system I am aware of allows anything close to 3275 solar input . It also takes 1800 ac fast charging. It is a 110 charger out but that is irrelevant against the charge input speed. 240 will just drain your battery faster. It will be an expensive setup, but it will work.

That’s a great option I wasn’t aware of. Thanks for that

Will you please walk through what this means in range added the truck per unit of time? Realistic daily max miles you can expect to add off solar, etc?

Dalton, I can’t comment on the goal zero setup but on the delta pro 3 which has a 2.6kw solar input I can realistically shoot for 1.5kw to 2kw. Thats about the best I’ve been able to consistently achieve even in Arizona. Imagine it’s similar in Nevada.
Real world; this is about 3-5 miles of range per hour on mine.
So assuming an 8-10hr solar day while camping and not driving, you’re looking at between 24-50 miles of range added.
With my vampire drain and camping use including night factored in, it’s more like 10-30 miles per day depending on conditions and use pattern. It’s definitely not a lot to set up camp at 100 miles of range and leave three days later at just shy of 200 miles of range, but it’s a lot better than setting up camp for three days, sweating being able to get out of the desert when it’s time to go, and then leaving with some pathetically low 30-50 mile range number and maybe making it to the supercharger.
That’s the whole logic here. For me at least, it’s really not about a lot of charging, it’s about leniency in terms of planning and less anxiety while camping. In particular since I have young kids and get very nervous about endangering them in the desert.
Not sure if that’s the analysis you were looking for but that’s my rationale for investing in and carrying this equipment.
It’s definitely NOT a good strategy for say, getting across Alaska where there are no superchargers, but it’s a safety margin in places that do have rapid charging means.

About how many gallons of gas would that 7 hours be?

Does anker or delta or ecoflow etc make a battery back up that can be charged with a nacs plug? Or are there adapters that allow for that?

My Ecoflow delta 3 pro charges at almost 4kw with my Tesla wall connector and an adapter. I think the big anker can do that too and possibly the large Pecron but I don’t own either so not certain

You’re saying that you can charge a Tesla with a delta 3 pro, correct?
I’m wondering if the delta 3 pro can be charged with a wall charger or better yet a supercharger.
So like if the power is out in your area, (and you don’t have solar panels) can you drive to a supercharger and charge the battery backup either directly or via adapters
