what is the purpose of those stripes (grooves) in the rubber (?) at the bottom of the center console similar to the rubber mats? Are those to anchor different equipment (like radios, accessories) or are they for water draining? Are they T-slots or just grooves.? Sorry for using the wrong terminology, I am new to this...

Many thanks!

I think they are meant to prevent things from sliding around, aka if you toss a backpack down there and take a corner going fast you won't get that stuck under your feet or more importantly the pedals.
There are some pretty interesting aftermarket ideas for storage down there but with the current open concept I think it is just to supply some traction.

You mean the grooves that match everything else in the picture?

Those are cosmetic hard plastic strips. I really thought they were going to be rubber like what is on the brake pedals. I really like having that space as I use it a lot when getting food or something in a bag. I really wish they were rubber so whatever I put there stays in place. Stuff just slides around in there. I was thinking of getting some double-sided black rubber strips to stick over the black plastic strips to help with that.

Mostly cosmetic. A lot of the parts are named after boat things and the center floor is supposed to resemble yacht flooring
