You have to put the pin in every time or just with the physical key card?

PIN required with phone or key card. If you enable valet mode and give them the key card, no PIN is required. I've had PIN to drive enabled since it was added.

I keep the key card in my wallet, but glove box is just as good. It's proximity based, B pillar or phone charge cradle, it won't be read just hanging around inside.

I always have 2 phones on me, so I don't worry much about vehicle access, but I do keep one keycard in my wallet, and one at home.

If you really want redundancy, you can give another family member phone key access; that way if your phone is lost, stolen, or dead, you can find another phone and call them to unlock and start remotely.

I have an Apple Watch but I don’t pay extra for it to have its own cell service. Does it still work even if it’s not connected to your phone and also doesn’t have cell service?

Yes. I have a non-cellular Apple Watch and use it without my phone for access to my Tesla.

Soooo, I may be a bit crazy.. I took one of the key cards and hid it outside the truck just in case my phone has a serious issue and I can call anyone to unlock it... Kinda like a hidden key container under the car...
