I've owned my CyberTruck (Fuglie 1) for exactly one month. I've been asked several times why I bought the CyberTruck, so here's my list of reasons:

1) Electric motors are >85% efficient compared to ICE which have ~30 to 35% efficiency. Cybertruck has a MPGe of ~90 miles.
2) FSD driving capability - great for seniors like my wife and I (once we get it).
3) Easy to get in and out of with the adjustable height (yesterday, my 91 year mom was able to get into it without much issue).
4) It's a truck (6' bed with a 2500 lb payload).
5) It'll pull a trailer (no too far, but far enough for me and my 14' dump trailer).
6) Versatility - work, pleasure, day to day use (it performed like a champ on a couple of the Moab moderate trails, Long Canyon and Willow Springs).
7) Replaces my 2018 Chevy Volt and my 1999 Ford F250, two great vehicles! This should be the last truck I need to purchase.
8) Safety: Built tough with 30x cold rolled stainless steel (Awaiting IIHS and NHTSA testing).
9) Built in bed (tonneau) cover.
10) Tesla charging station infrastructure (Wife and I drove Fuglie 1 from Illinois to Moab UT and back with no issues).
11) High tech, with ongoing OTA software updates.
12) Roomy, it'll sit five adults comfortably.

What are your reasons for getting the CyberTruck?

Well, I reserved it like most of you 4.5 years ago. Back then it was because:

1) I was in the market for a pickup truck as a family adventure vehicle, not a work truck
2) I kind of always wanted a tesla ever since I saw the first model S about a decade ago
3) I thought it looked cool

Now that it came out, I felt like they over delivered if anything for my purposes. The feel of the suspension, steer by wire and 4 wheel steering makes it really comfortable and nice to drive.

I almost did NOT buy it because:

1) the attention is a lot. But I believe it that will die down as they become more common

2) the price is more than I was hoping for. Though inflation has been significant since 2019 and I believe they over delivered. It feels like an 80-100k car, or even more

Everything else is gravy…

1) The fact that it lowers to let my kids in and out easily
2) It being super fast and fun
3) Teslas FSD tech is years ahead of anyone else
4) The ease of just plugging it in to charge at home and never thinking about fuel / gas station trips or prices

It just looks awesome. I probably should have gotten a X or R1S instead for practicality but I love the unique look. And now I start to enjoy the constant attention I get. Positive or negative it’s all fun.

Honestly.. To rent it out and have a fun toy that others pay for. It’s working out quite nicely ??

It’s just so special, only every few decades does a car like this come around. It’s more than just an electric car, they put something together so special.

I’ve wanted a truck since 2016ish. Wife really thought we should be going electric back then even…. Waited and waited. Bought a Y and 3 within a month after 15k price drops, and fell in love with Teslas.
so then, I want a truck, but it has to be an EV, and there is only one EV maker that I trust.. hence Cybertruck.

but it is also like an SUV/Truck. Can do all the camping and adventures with my young (6/3yr olds) family (bikes/camping/water fun/etc)… but it can also do basic truck stuff to haul junk, furniture, ladder to help at mother in law’s , etc… perfect truck and I take delivery this Tuesday at 10!!!

I had wanted a truck for a long time
I had wanted a sports car for a long time
I had wanted an EV since Model 3
I love new tech and engineering
I am bored by all the same looking cars, SUVs and Trucks on the market
I only have room for one vehicle in my life
Cybertruck checks all the boxes for me.

- Electric/Tesla/Supercharging/NACS, still have 2013 Model S
- It was past time to replace my 25-year-old F-150
- Stainless steel, park outdoors 100%, no rust through and paint deterioration
- I'm 75, FSD may extend driving years and probably never need to buy a new vehicle again
- Technology, capacities, capabilities

Hehehe I'm simple, for 1) the increase utility/bed with a nice cover, 2) the technology including stereo and nav/tech, 3) the ride/comfort and quietness. Also FSD/freeway use mainly but of course haven't got to see that yet.

1. Power
2. Towing a trailer around with my jeep sucks, for projects around the house.
3. Power
4. I love that it is so ugly, didn’t like it at first but the look is growing on me.
5. Power
6. Road trips with the dog will be more comfortable
7. Range. 800 mile trip in my Model S take 8 stops(the distance between super charger means we have to stop a lot unless we want to have a few 45 minute charging waits)
9. And the power.
