I keep wondering if the off-road capability might be included with the base model of the truck. Traditionally, features like seat warmers, upgraded suspension, and off-road packages come at a premium—look at the F-150 base compared to the Raptor, or other specialized off-road models of trucks. They all cost extra. So, why would Tesla include these for free when others have paid upwards of $100,000 for similar features? Perhaps the advanced features could be software-locked or produce a non-air suspension base model set to a single mid-height level. Or maybe I’m just hoping that me buying in early and paying more will come with some unexpected perks when the base non-FS additions roll out.

I could see the off road app software only enabled in a. Package with the wheels and tires also.
How much would that package be valued at?

$19,999.00. :)

Nobody knows as of yet. Could be software locked Offroad, Towing, Outlets, heated/cooled seats, etc - but even at the lower pricing that's coming, the truck still has to be competitive from an overall value perspective...and that's not vs. the Foundation series but what they sell against eg rivian, etc. Base RWD version may lose some features aka work truck equivalent, to drive to minimal price, but assume AWD/Beast wont.

I could see an Offroad package with AT Tires/SW unlock, FSD Option, PowerShare Option - because not everyone wants or needs these and removing from the truck reduces the price and allows a bigger addressable market - but I dont think they'll go crazy and strip the non foundation and option it back up to what early adapters paid.

I'm good with what I paid for the beast, excellent vehicle!

I’m hoping they include it all to crush the competition. Then more cybertrucks will be on the roads and the plebs will get use to them.

While I applaud the goal, :) I do hope Tesla lets Foundation owners retain some differentiation and value from Non-FS trucks, besides just the badging.

You have a badge, lifetime premium connectivity, FSD, and accessories.

If anything a newer CT will probably have some upgrades, even at a lower price, than less. They want to move units and are constantly refining their vehicles.

I can see the non-foundation series having software upgrades as you described. I also have a feeling that the Non- Foundation series will start with All-Season tires and Tactacal Grey interior.

I wouldn't look to other automakers to guess how Tesla will do it, Tesla is loath to make too many different versions because that complicates delivery logistics (makes it take longer and costs more).

Are any of these features listed in the Foundation Series package?

If not, they are a part of the base vehicles.

Wasn't that easy?

I feel many potential non-FS buyers (including myself) would be disappointed to see Tesla nickel and diming for surprise feature-removals, enough to cancel the order.

The benefit of a Foundation Series is that you can drive it right now (and over the past year), the only free software you should be getting is FSD and Premium Connectivity. Anything 'extra' given to FS when non-FS comes out is in bad faith IMO.

I think all the core features of the Foundation series will be carried over in the non-FS.

I expect the base non-FS will come with Core wheels, All Season tires, and Tactical Gray. So there will be wheel/tire and color upgrade options. And all the accessories that came with the Foundation series will be extra. But the essential truck that we all love will be there, even in the base non-FS.

And now, a very few hours after my post, Tesla proved me correct.
