For those who’ve taken delivery of their FS:

How long did it take to get the CT in your hands after being notified it was ready for delivery? Was the service center able to work with you to accommodate delivery in your schedule?

I ask because I’m in the any-day-now phase (have been for almost two weeks thanks to the accelerator pedal hold) but have some out-of-town commitments coming soon. Would they hold the truck a week or so until I return or are they so rigid they’ll pass it on to the next customer and I’ll have to get back in line?

I’ve tried to be as flexible as possible with my travel and remain available (especially since it’s been close to a month since getting my VIN) but I’m now at a point where I need to make these trips.

Nope. You have a 3 day window with the Cybertruck before they release the VIN. They are very strict about it, no wiggle room even for employees. Other models are up to sales manager discretion. I know this because they held my X for a little bit a few quarters ago, and I know an employee who almost lost their Cyberbeast due to strict 3 day window

Thanks. I think I’ll be OK but… Wish Tesla had been more transparent through this whole process.

This was not my experience with my CT. They were willing to hold it an extra week for me because I was out of town. They agreed to deliver it on the exact date and time I requested. Go in and talk to a human and explain your situation and you should get good results.

That’s awesome. Yeah OP I would definitely ask. I guess also results might be different depending how close to end of quarter your delivery is.

Tesla held my vehicle for four days earlier this month. I was about to board a cruise ship the day they called me to take delivery. I had already had them note the dates I would be out of town in March. They told me they would hold it up to a week. When they called me to take delivery, I told them to check the notes in my delivery profile. They said delaying would be no issue. I would get them the dates and make sure they are in the system.

False. That's simply made up BS. Tesla is willing to work within your schedule with the possible exception of a delivery right at the end of the quarter. I say "possible exception" because Tesla has been working on unwinding the quarterly "wave", the process by which they deliver as many of the current quarter's production as possible, in that quarter. So I have no idea if they are still strict at the end of the quarter or not.

You should be fine because not all CTs are ready for delivery due to the pedal issue. They’ll be busy for a couple weeks making up for the week they lost. They should totally understand. Good luck!

I think it is documented in the sales agreement because I tried to delay delivery of my model y and they were nice for a while and then they quoted the agreement which, admittedly, I hadn’t read. Before asking us you may consider reading everything you have been provided by Tesla.

When they called me on March 19th I had a three day window. I made the appointment for the 20th, and the rep. that called me was so nice and knew how excited I was (like a 5 year old kid getting a new tow) they scheduled me for delivery that afternoon. It was a great experience.

Moral of the story, talk to someone at the Service Center as they can make arrangements if you need them.

You are lucky. I asked for a one day extension and they said nope and released my VIN to someone else. Luckily I received a new VIN the next day and the truck was delivered 4-5 days later to me. They were adamant about 3 days max in my SC in California.
