Hey fellow CT owners. I noticed this Windshield defect right away from Delivery. It is like the very bottom couple inches of the visible portion of the windshield has a distorted view.

Is this something all CT windshields have? Standard defect or just mine?

At a certain angle, light becomes diffracted instead of passing through; this is why traditional plate glass is green or some color at the edge instead of transparent.

Now... Is this normal for the Cybertruck? No idea. It's a pretty high and tight angle I don't think I've seen in other videos, but now others can look for it.

I dont think it's normal and that Tesla will eventually adjust the production to not have it there. Almost like ghosting saga on early Model X - not as sever, obviously.

I do have it too on my windshield - the distortion a bit shorter than yours, but in about the same area. I bet if you make a claim, Tesla will deny as "within tolerance"
haha true. I just tried to get used to it, but sometimes it’s very noticeable especially with lines on the road. Just don’t know if I should make a service request or live with it….

My model S does this as well and the windshield was replaced about two years ago.

Do you see it at night to or just during the day with high sun, possible there is some residue on the inside or outside of the windshield?

Bummer. Yeah I wouldn’t want to go through the hassle of pushing for a replacement and it’s the same issue anyway….hoping more CT owners chime in and confirm if this is normal

I imagine if it impacts vision that you could appeal ā€˜within specs’ if there is such a thing. But if it doesn’t impact driving then oh well…

So I thought my windshield was also distorted but it turned out I had an inch of grease at the bottom of the window shield due to how I have been cleaning not reaching all the way to the bottom. Once I cleaned the grease the distortion was gone.

Just something to check

I have a wrinkle like distortion in the left side of the windshield. It’s hard to photograph and it’s not a huge deal but distracts me sometimes. Looks like it’s between two layers of the glass.

Mine is a bit distorted on the bottom like the OP but it doesn't bother me. My 22.5 S Plaid had a distortion right in the center of the front glass and Service Center replaced it at no cost.

In general ā€˜extreme’ glass angle contributes to distortion.. Which is probably overlooked because of joy and excitement just to have the truck at this point..

However, I’m curious to experience this first hand to see what it’s like..

I too have the distortion on vin # 38,477 CB. I have a service req in for a tonneau cover realignment to allow it to close all the way and will ask service to review the windshield distortion areas!

Will also check for grease and clean the inside of the window as OP stated to see if it makes a difference.
