The blue liquid comes out from somewhere but does not hit the windshield. The wiper spreads it around a little so it kinda works but most of the solutions pools to the left of the wiper. Can someone tell me or show me where the windshield spray is supposed to hit so I can open a service request?

I have the same problem, I hope you've found the solution.

I solved it by using purified water for a while until it was almost clear. I use wiper fluid almost every day because it’s dusty here. Then I switched to a standard windshield wiper fluid at its lowest dilution. Seems to be fine now.

AFAIK, it comes out from multiple ports on the wiper.

I’m having this issue and I’m in Canada. The wiper basically barely shoots out washer… I hear it… I see it. But because it shoots while the wiper is still moving (fast) on auto… I feel like the spray of the washer shoots tooo far high and almost flies off of the car due to velocity of the wipers movement. This just ends up the wiper running kind of dry and smudge salt over the windshield and destroying visibility! I really hope there is a fix for this. I’ve made sure to top off my windshield washer fluid too, so it’s definitely not an empty canister issue.

There are pinprick type of holes along the wiper, I’ve read that they may be clogged so with a needle I’ve tried to pierce it. Didn’t work! All I get fluid running down the windshield and making big puddles on the garage floor. It still sprays all the way on the top of the wiper enough to soak the passengers side. I’m planning on just driving to the service without an appointment this week and show them what’s going on and when I’ll get some answers I’ll post it here.

I think it has to do with the blue windshield whipper cleaner it comes with, it’s awful. I ran it out, added some new stuff and it’s working much better now.

FYI, I tried mixing my own, found the mix on Amazon, concentrated, 120 gallons worth for $15. But I hadn’t counted the methanol to keep it from freezing, that stuff is a lot more expensive, unless you buy it in bulk. And I wasn’t going to buy a 50 gallon barrel. If anyone knows of a cheaper antifreeze component I’m all ears.

What’s the cost for methanol you’re seeing? USA Lab has 200 proof ethanol at $50/gal (with taxes, 1-5 gallons, but before shipping). About $5 per fill if you mix a 1:8 ratio into the reservoir.

I’ve been using nextzett washer fluid after the factory fill ran out. Their summer formula worked so well (no more screeching and cleans great) I’m going to try their ethanol formula for the winter. A 1:3 mixing ratio with water gets 20degF protection, about $15 to fill.

$5 dollars per fill is almost the cost of a premix 0 degree (F) gallon. I got methonal for $16 for 32 oz, requiring about $8 per fill for 0 degree mix.

I vacuumed the original windshield fluid then filled with RO water, blue stuff was still running to the floor. I also got the largest sewing needle and pricked the outlets again. I think some of the holes were clogged up with all the dust from Boca Chica trip for the launch, it sprays more now but not like my MX where the fluid gushes out. It seems the windshield water line has a super highway to the top while still missing some of the holes.

Mine appear to pump fluid on the up-wipe and they spray to the left of the wiper. This suggests that it is problematic near the bottom of the window.

Yes I agree. It’s the same motion for me. It’s sprays on the way back up. I think a software fix could fix this, perhaps they can implement a fix by having the washer spray on the way down and up and automatically do one more round of washer on the way down and once more on the way up.

Also, how do we get Tesla’s attention? I’m thinking if we collect a mass amount of e-signatures then it should catch their attention. Would save time for everyone else to raise a service ticket themselves…

100% on this - it needs spray on the way down, this would give the water a few seconds to lift the dirt/salt/bugs before it gets wiped.
