Windshield wiper stays in down position?

On the freeway just now the windshield wiper turned on automatically with no water on the window and stayed in the down position. Had to clean the window for it to return back to the up/vertical. Silly question I know but is this normal behavior?

Yes. It's normal.

The wiper will wipe when it things something (rain or other) is obstructing the camera. It stays down to prevent water from running up.

After 30 Sec., it will be back. These ghost wipes rarely happen but normal.

Raining. High speed

If you want it to stow sooner just do a momentary tap on the steering wheel control button (not long enough to squirt). It will sweep up, back down, then up and stowed.
