Anybody else have this happen to them?
My FS Beast's Wiper will travel down to the bottom of the window with no warning and come to a stop. Approximately fifteen seconds later, it will then return to its normal at ready position. Furthermore, my wiper will randomly at times do a single down and back cycle with no warning or me operating it.

Thank you in advance,
Boltar

This does happen. The down and stay sometimes is for aero- its in the owners manual. The random swipe could be because you have auto wipers on. Its a reported bug. It doesn't happen if you turn off auto wiper

That's "normalish". FSD sets the wipers to "auto" and therefore they will wipe if the forward camera appears obstructed. This can be mitigated by cleaning the windshield interior in front of the camera.

The wiper will "pause" at the bottom when at speed (over 20MPH?) so that the trapped water can escape out the sides, instead of rolling up the middle of the glass.

I haven't used FSD yet. This problem is unnerving but a VERY small price to pay for LIGHT SHOW!!!
You can set the wipers to "Off" from "Auto", and the behavior should stop. Activating FSD will switch them back to "Auto".

Just curious why this is so unnerving. You also said in the previous post, "with no warning." Is this action legitimately scaring you? Would a warning, "I am about to swipe my BAW one time," have eased your stress?

I should mention this was my first road trip (Front Glass new and clean) and it's only happened during dry weather.
normal behavior at this point, all of us see this bug occasionally, Tesla's auto wipers have been pretty sad for years, they are improving but still pretty bad overall. FSD works great but the wipers not so much.....

This is the answer.

I wondered the same thing the day I drove my CT off the lot (it was sprinkling) and I was like, 'uh, I think it's broken'. Got home, did some research and realized it's intentional.

As for the random wipe when it's not raining, yeah, the vision-based auto wiper system will do that from time to time (this is a common complaint about Tesla's auto-wiper functionality since they don't use a rain sensor device, and rely of camera / vision).

Personally, I've noticed it change over the years from good > bad > good again. With my CT, it's been good.
