A new idea; build the Wolverine on the basis of the model Y. You’ll probably have seen this going around now.
I don’t like the rounded design….nothing new and not catching. But maybe it is feasible to use the model Y’s structure to save some money?

If you scale down you would need all new designs and more machines/tools for front casting, rear casting, structural battery pack. Have to keep inventory of more different parts. Lower economy of scale cost effects.

Possible huge cost saving on factory machines/tools if used Model Y chassis. The problem is Model Y might be too lightweight for a truck.

Model X is another interesting probability. Right now Model X does not have front casting, rear casting, structural battery pack because the current production is too low (50K - 100K) to justify high cost of expensive high volume IRDA gigapress casting machine.

If Cybertruck Wolverine edition was based on a 3rd generation Model X they could share front casting, structural battery pack. Mostly outer body and rear casting would be different.

Also use same platform for minivan.

Even the Model 3 and Model Y have changed so much since production started, (castings, structual pack etc) they are not the same car anymore.

Despite that, there's no way to get the MY base to a useful payload without major reworking. They can still use the drivetrain and batteries, HVAC etc on all models anyway, which is half the cost anyway, so they are much better off doing a dedicated Wolverine build. Even GA is laid out to run multiple assembly lines from the same base resources.

As for the design...um yuk.
It also negates many of the manufacturing benefits of SS exoskeleton for something that looks horrible.

I don't think Tesla or EM will ever do a Lotus/Roadster swap ever again. Learnt the lesson the hard way.

I appreciate the effort of the render but I don't like the design. I actually like what someone did for an unofficial Rivian R2S, if Tesla were to work off of the Y for a smaller CT:

A smaler suburban CT with 2mm SS, could perhaps be more easily shaped as a single shell to create interesting designs.

Well, if you could keep the Y underbody... front and rear castings... Then drop a Cybertruck folded shell over top...

Not even CLOSE....CT is a unique BEAST.
It should remain pure to original intent and execution. Even if this means CT won't land DownUnder.....l will be SAD either way!
