But probably a human court though. The nuances of human cruelty involved in unraveling close relationships isn’t something I imagine can be reasoned through purely logically and therefore it’s not a good use case for AI.

If you know you are going to lose in some fashion why not simply have the AI decide and save yourself all the time trouble and heartache of going through court and rehashing your failed marriage in front of other humans?

Fair point about only losers. I’ve not experienced it myself but I’ve stood close by when a few friends were going through it and it was awful.
For at least one of them there seemed to be a sense of closure in the rehashing process, almost like he wanted to tell some strangers about how unhappy he had been and be vindicated somehow.
Very complex situation emotionally. I can see the merit in both preferences.

All kidding aside, I think it’s utter crap that society sort of expects people to pair off and I don’t think anyone should feel pressure to do that but when you happen upon the right person….
I’d say that getting married to Andrea for me at least, was the most important decision I’ve made so far in my life.
No bullshit.
Now that doesn’t mean I think that’s the case for everyone just that it was for me.

Yes, I’ve been through it before. Family Court is basically a giant money squeeze. The system doesn’t care, the attorneys don’t care. And honestly, I kind of get their mindset — it’s like they’re saying, “If you can’t be adults and resolve this yourselves, and you need judges and lawyers to babysit the situation, then bring your wallet.”

Between attorneys, mediators, guardian ad litems, evaluations, drug tests — you can burn through $20k in no time. And they’ll drag it out as long as possible to squeeze every dollar they can. I seriously don’t know how some Family Court lawyers sleep at night. It feels like selling your soul.

And no, they don’t actually care about the kids. The mom could be a complete mess, but if she’s got deeper pockets for an attorney, she’ll probably win. (For context, my second and current wife is an attorney — not Family Court — and she feels the exact same way about that system.)

Honestly I added that after the fact, figured it would attract more people to the post. Most people want to open the door or pull the curtain back if it does say explicit content lol.
