So my question to you all is would you go through with the replacement?
You should, it would stay clean if not touched regularly. Might just use a horse hair boot brush to clean area. Have the suede yoke wheel and it was cool at first but oil and constant uses and wear discolors over time and no amount of brushing is going to bring out the now compressed suede again.

Choose wisely.

Since the Alcantara dash was only for Beast FS, was it listed on your order @cyberic999 ? Just not sure why the SC would replace for free, since it was never an OE part for non-Beast. I've considered ordering the part for mine, although there's nothing 'wrong' with the standard dash, and like ithers have said, you never know what new squeaks will come of replacing trim, especially on earlier builds.

Funny thing is you can't order it as an AWD owner. However you can buy it from Tesla if it's in stock at the dealership. Does not make any sense...

Yeah. I have bodyshop access to the catalog, so can buy any part (just had to buy the new vault 'front wall' due to changes that impacted our Armor vault protection), but it's still $900 for no real gain, other than it being a bit prettier (and at the risk of breaking clips, introducing more squeaks or rattles).

Not specifically. Just mentioned “premium interior.” Which paired with pictures of the alcantara dash one would assume that’s what you’re getting. It really isn’t hard for Tesla to put actual pictures of the product you’re getting so that there’s no confusion on the customer side. I know for the Non-FS product pages they’re spot on. For the FS page, they were pretty vague.

What range is your VIN? I'm 1000, so based on your SC's initial response of only certainly AWD FS having the premium dash, curious if we're in a similar window, which would make it worth asking? Not that my SC is remotely approachable on things like this.

What changed to the vault wall?

Actually, I was wondering whether this made an acoustic difference? I mean, difference is hard plastic vs "textile"

I would think marginal, at best. There's no difference to the core (the high-density foam), just the finished surface, so at best it might slightly reduce/dampen in-cabin reverberations. The acoustic panels in my home theater are all covered in as suede material for this reason, but most of the dampening happens with the fill material (rock wool, for the panels).

I am curious: is that how you make the CT super quiet to the road noise and motor wheezing noise? what are the technical limits to such an endeavor to make the CT super quiet?

You mentioned something about a rattle or noise in the truck. Ive seen in the past, rattles under the dash pad. If they had to pull the IP to access for a noise, then that IP is very fragile. It can easily be nicked or scratched when removing and installing. The upgraded cyber beast IP is a bit more forgiving, and in my opinion looks better. It’s not gonna change the resale value whatsoever. It’s easily explainable with receipts from the repairs.

Although cool of them to do that, I would be afraid of all the stuff they'll break in the process. Everytime I have taken a car for them to repair something they break something else. Took a 2024 Model X for a squeaky driver seat, and they broke the seat (had to install a new one), scratched trim pieces (which required a separate appointment to correct), scratched the back seat (which remained unfixed), and punched a hole on the rear mat (which they had to replace). So, I would just stick with the dash that came with the truck. I traded the X for a CT AWD and was expecting alcantara as well, but got the same dash you did. A bit of a let down, but not a hige deal when considering what it could turn into.
Bro I totally second what you said.
My dash was removed because of rattles underneath... they (techs) break and distort everything and hand the truck back in worse contion. Took 4 or more visits to get things resolved and im only 95% happy about the end result. I would seriously avoid taking anything in the interior apart unless absolutely necessary.

Mine was replaced 3 times because the techs kept damaging it. Very annoying to have to keep coming back. This is not a part they usually stock

So based off of this forum thread I reached out to my SC and they are scheduling to have me get the upgraded Alcantara dash at no extra cost. The part is currently showing as in transit and the SC scheduled me to have it installed in a few weeks.

I love finding these little tips and tricks on this forum and I'm happy to report back if I was able to successfully get them implemented, especially with all of the FUD and doom posters on here.

Just a few weeks ago I was able to get another slat installed on my tonneau cover, free tire replacement by explaining that it's a tire foam separation issue as seen in mass on this forum (which helped the diagnosis and the $0 price point) and other small freebies that were presented by other CT owners here.

Quick question for those that might know:

Is the FS Series AWD CT supposed to have Alcantara suede on any other parts aside from the dash? I'm seeing that the steering yolk might have supposed to come with it. I'm basically wanting to see if there is anything else that I can request and have them look into upgrading while I await my upcoming appointment.

Thanks to those posting positive and uplifting content! 🙏🏻✌🏻
