It's nice to see official confirmation. Still completely vague.

My advice is buy the basic model now if you can/want, but if finances aren't yet right then it'll like come to this price point again (or if it does go up to $65,000 or whatever, if they run 0% apr that'll be just as good for some). It's a fire sale but we had one in September.

100% saw this coming because of demand. Tesla leadership didn’t even need 10 days before they announced a price hike. It's effective this Sunday, March 1st.

$62,490 on March 1st Is my prediction AND they cancel the $1k referral code on CT orders.

Could also just be dumping RWD pieces and drop the trim all together.
Regarding parts. I would agree with you decades ago but virtually all auto manufacturers have copied Toyota with JIT logistics. The plant knows exactly how many vehicles they will build each day/week and suppliers ship parts accordingly. Tesla is a vertically integrated company which helps immensely.

Right, but I’m sure they were still buying/producing in batches, leaving some leftovers.

Still, that wouldn’t justify rolling out a whole new trim “just to get rid of the parts”.
