Had an excellent delivery experience at the Fife SC in Washington State. Dave, our SA was super accommodating. My biggest surprise was their detailer had already prepped the CT using BKF/Windex! I found a few small spots that looked like tape glue and our SA called the detailer over to correct them on the spot. He used 0000 steel wool and they came right off. Alignment looks good to my untrained eye and had an uneventful ride home (other than lots of thumbs up or videos taken by other drivers)listening to some jams with my 16 yo daughter. Once I got home I installed some center caps/lug nut covers from T Sportline, matte screen protectors and center console tray from Twraps. I have some Gyeon quartz leather shield coming tomorrow to ceramic coat the interior and a wrap scheduled for 4/1

Congrats! Let us know how the ceramic coating inside works out. I’m curious to see what the application process is and how it looks.

Sure thing! I have used it in our Model Y with great results. I'll take some photos for reference.

That's not good. Steel wool will leave behind free iron in the pores of the stainless, which will then rust. If you see a rust spot in the areas he touched up, that will be why. Not sure how to correct that, I just know it's a problem.

Not real (regular) steel wool, I hope.

I imagine reapplying BKF will remove the embedded iron?

I honestly am not sure. Once the free iron is in the pores, I'm not sure that going over the surface with BKF will remove it. I would wet it down a few times with water to try to force it to rust if it's going to before you get that wrap. you don't want to trap free iron under there.

There is actually "stainless-steel wool" which will not deposit free iron.

But even with aggressive grinding of rusty nails, it should all be on the surface and BKF should remedy it easily.

Bronze wool is available and would work well to remove tape residue, I would probably just use a rag and some solvent. I don't think bronze wool is hard enough to cut the super hard stainless though.

The question is more did the SC actually use steel wool, and if they did how do you remedy that. It's already too late to figure out alternate ways to have dealt with it.
