Didn't say where it's being assembled. Can't tell if that is Austin or not by the photo.

Holy Motherfucking SHIT. That thing is beyond huge. And there's only one place in the world slated to install a Giga press. Giga Austin, thank you very much. Cybertruck is getting closer, I can almost smell it a la Anthony Hopkins.

That’s concrete post and beam structure .v. Steel and girder construction at Austin. Nice try!

Idra was having an event for the 9000t gigapress in June. Probably quite awhile before it gets tested and sent to Austin

It is!

...But they assemble it in Italy before disassembling it and shipping it.

The Quad Squad would have spotted the many large deliveries. This is not in Austin yet.

It will take 2-3 months to transport and assemble this beast, once testing and disassembly is complete. I expect Tesla to be making test castings by EOY.

What I understand is this for the June demo in Italy. This is not here in USA, or at any Tesla facility. But yea, progress.

Well, it looks like Austin. Those are the same arrangement of cranes, colors, and pillars.

I looked closely also, and the thing that makes me suspect it is NOT Giga Texas, is that the ceiling doesn't look like the underside of metal decking. It has large concaves that I don't remember seeing during the construction of Giga Texas. At Giga Texas I always saw metal decking. Even over the areas in the NE corner of the building where the other Giga Presses are located, There are full height concrete columns that look similar to the ones in this photo, which support the rails for cranes. But at the roof, there was metal decking with foam and white PVC roofing on top of it all.

That still doesn't make it late, since it's not needed until the production ramp.

I believe every cast machine is fully tested in Italy before going to customer. Just saw How It's Made condoms last night, each is tested before shipping out too. Got to love YouTube for education.
What is pictured is too massive to transport. It is R&D. Telling is the choice of steel reinforced cement used for the bulwarks. Shipping just the steel frame, piping and controls will connsiderably cut down mass and enable a poured-in-place once the equipment is shipped, set and then finished installation with the concrete poured-in.

That my best guess…

Which explains why they left so much space under the gigacasting roof unpaved for so long.

Thank you for pointing that out. The bulwarks are the mass standing vertical, piping encasements and hydraulics, I assumed encased in concrete for mass. That which is standing ships w/o concrete to save weight. The whole assembled bulwark shown may even ship in sections to be stacked at GigaAustin and poured at destination into one massive piece as seen atop the steel beams.

The wide-flange steel floor beams? Those don’t ship, as you mention. I missed that. Instead the standing bulwark is destined to be anchored to concrete foundation at floor level in GigaAustin.
