I ordered a tri motor just to get closer to the front of the list. Now I won't be able to afford/justify one. Sigh.
Has your situation changed? Because Tesla hasn't said the price is out of your league.

Never base sighs upon rumors.

I saw an airport fire truck round a corner and I thought for certain he was going to roll it. Almost on 3 wheels (6 total) with over 30 tons of water/foam mixture and the CG well above the wheels!

When are we going to hear:

1. What specifications are included?
2. What is the pricing?
3. What is the range?
4. What is the performance?
Why is this a secret?
why would they want to give any other automaker that info before they are churning them out the door ?

I don’t think the fear of competition is a motivating factor. I think they are under pressure from Elon to get the costs down without losing anything in the process.
That’s my hope anyway ?

With a half decent charging network where you drive the CT you can easily get by with less range.

Have you driven a BEV for a week or two to try it out, or even better a Tesla? You'll find quite quickly that you can live with the inconvenience of more charging stops because the rest of the traveling is just so much more convenient in comparison. That was my experience after 6000miles in 4 weeks just recently. You get used to it pretty quick, and if you could charge overnight where you stay, like at home, I don't think you'd want to go back to a ICE in a hurry.

Have you road tripped with a 300 mile plus Tesla and used their nav and super chargers?

I think with the goverment pouring money in and OEM's using SC there may well be many more SC availiable to you by the time the trucks roll out to most of us.

Just a suggestion, rent a LR 3 or Y and take a trip and see how well things go. The nav makes it so easy to plan and the charging is so fast that it is stress free. I stop to get a bite and visit the bathroom about every 3 to 4 hours. I will have about 15/20% or more charge left. In 15 to 18 minutes I am at 80 percent or better and back on the road. Just a thought before you bail on a CT because of the 350 range. It really is plenty if not towing.

I love road tripping in Tesla's and having small breaks to stretch your legs. It doesn't add substantial time onto the trips once you get used to it and have an idea where to stop. I prefer to stop more frequently (every 90 to 120 minutes) and stretch my legs, grab a coffee, use the bathroom, ect, and just charge for 15 minutes before continuing on. Its makes for a more pleasant journey in my opinion vs just staying in the car for four hours straight. I enjoy my journey more with the charging stops.

Having owned a Tesla for 5 years now, I can say that Range is actually not that big of a concern outside of specific edge cases (like towing or if you are going somewhere real remote with bad charging infrastructure).
