Admitting this is basically fan fiction: it’s seemed like the last few joint videos between Sandy and Cory had been … off

Probably nothing and unrelated, but the outcome in any event:

I've been a huge fan of Sandy Munro, but lately he seems to have sipped on a little bit of Elon Kool-Aid. I feel like he's lost much of his healthy skepticism regarding Elon's overly optimistic predictions. I wonder if Cory has decided to branch out to carry on Sandy's original mission?

Good luck to him!

Not concerned. Sandy is the entertainment, the walking history book of the automotive industry, and the regular guy I can relate too. He is surrounded by talent that will step up I am sure.

Nothing against Cory and I am sure he has helped Sandy build the web presence he enjoys, but it is Sandy I will keep subscribed to.

All the best Cory. Can't wait to see the Munro Cybertruck tear down

My favorite is the seat and interior specialist guy. As long as they still have him.

I wish him the best of success but I must say that his willingness to step away from the business of reporting on tear downs, and the unassailable truth they represent, and into the world of speculation, has been frustrating for me. It may bring more clicks from the illiterati but it doesn’t bring value. He is probably better off elsewhere and so is Munro.

I see it as the opposite; the Cory is dipping the Koolaid and Sandy is trying to be objective.

strange - I see Sandy as doing much more of the conjecture

witness eg: Sandy sort of single-handedly having built the zeitgeist around what the term “exoskeleton” means, from nothing more than the few brief quotes of Musk’s to which we all have access

Munro went on a parade of hours-long interviews and Munro live reels describing what “exoskeleton” meant. Same with window construction, etc.

I just don’t see either being more prone to conjecture than the other

not do I personally have the problem with it. I think it’s reasonable and obvious when their conjecture is conjecture, and I take it as conjecture that is better informed than my own, all else equal

Are you speculating about their conjecture?

cant say for sure he had any choice

saying he doesn’t know what he’s going to do next leaves wider open both possibilities that he decided to leave before knowing what to do, or he was asked to leave before knowing what to do

true. He was the president though right? Asking to leave would probs have to come from the man himself

While I agree that in many ways their guesses are better than my 'facts', that is not why I started watching Munro in the first place. I started with the Model 3 teardown and I was amazed. There were others that took Elon's statements and pictures of the Cybertruck exoskeleton at face value and tried to make sense of it. I mean, everyone. If in fact those (@JBee) argued endlessly against exoskeleton turn out to be correct, then fine. It will not change the fact that the Cybertruck will be extremely resistant to light damage.

If all Sandy and Cory did was make educated guesses I would stop watching them. I watch for the teardowns and associated analysis. I believe that Cory did Munro a huge solid by proposing and pushing Munro Live, and many more people have been able to 'participate' in what they do as a result. In fact, Cory has put them on a different map than they were on, so he can be very proud of his time at Munro. I just happen to not appreciate the direction they started taking in the last couple of months. It doesn't matter whether it was Cory, Sandy, both, or other possibilities; it just isn't what I signed up for. Of course, I am not paying their bills so my opinion counts for naught.,,
