Yeah, I drive from a bit more north (Windsor CO) to Denver 2x per week - it's pretty much between 80-90mph on average and it sucks the electrons in my m3p...did Windsor to Colorado Springs last week approx 120mi each way...needed to be charged for return trip (left at 98%)...
I did a Colorado springs to Breckenridge round trip after staying in breck a few days and it told me that we would need to charge on the way back, I ignored it and we made it with very low charge lol.

Here’s the speed limit on the highway that passes the Austin gigafactory lol
Where's the other four speed limits that Texas is famous for?

You come across the border and suddenly there's a matrix of six different limits.

3) what's the number of people that crashed on those same corners on 18" all seasons and
The 18" get better traction and cornering, unless the tires are weird in some way. The thinner profile tires are about styling, they don't actually have better performance. The more round the air void can be inside, the less the tire will deform in cornering.

I post Cybertruck stuff on the Internet and people like it.

I should argue against myself, however, and say that one thing which may make a difference is charging speed. If the 350 CT has a ~70% recharge in 15 - 20 minutes rate (consistent with the discussion at the Semi reveal) then people would potentially make the trade.
Bingo. But I bet faster charging than that.

Just more FUD from scared ICE manufacturers. The range numbers don't originate from Tesla, but the EPA.
it may or may not be FUD, but the range numbers do in the important sense originate from Tesla

the EPA does its test and comes up with a range; Tesla is able to submit additional information to essentially ‘appeal’ the EPA range, which the EPA accommodates to a significant extent

Tesla and VW are the only OEMs that submit this sort of appeal data

regardless, I suspect this class action is borne more of the recent Reuters reports, and to that extent turn only partly on the EPA range issue

Sorry to have offended you - different strokes for different folks
You didn't offend me personally, but it's not a good look when people complain about things that should be obvious and that were caused by their own choices and preferences. It's pretty hard to offend me personally, but you are welcome to try.

I still don't understand why you complain about range at high speed when you say it's clearly enough for your use case. It's non-sensical.

Is it because you don't have a solid grasp of how the energy consumed is divvied up between aerodynamic losses, rolling resistance at different speeds? Aero losses grow with the square of the speed. I thought everyone understood basic physics, but maybe I'm assuming too much.

A lot of people want to try to make Tesla look bad and that's exactly what this lawsuit is about. No one in their right mind would sue Tesla over their range, you could see this coming from a mile away in the manner that, in the week previous, they dreged up some anonomous source who claimed Tesla gamed the range numbers and then tried to cancel perfectly valid service appointments. Over a decade ago, LOL! This attack is more transparent than the finest crystal!

Does anyone wonder why they are suing Tesla and not VW or BMW. Or better yet, the EPA!

Of course it's because those entities don't threaten other profit centers in the way that the leader of the EV revolution does! This lawsuit is going nowhere beyond some zesty sounding headlines. The funny part of this is that there will always be people so dumb they think this kind of lawsuit will impact the release timing of new vehicles, LOL! You can't make this stuff up!

People don't know SOOOOOOO many things. And so many things that are so much more obvious than even basic physics. Me thinks you are assuming a bit too much if you put the group to be "everyone".

I do enjoy a good video of questioning people on the street. I am constantly amazed by how little people actually know. I'm no longer surprised but I am still amazed.

Yeah, I should have specified, everyone on an EV forum who's in the market to buy a new vehicle. Even then, I can see my assumption might have been overly generous.

Carissa, mi Amigo, are we drinking and posting???

Air doesn’t care about shape. And the shorter the sidewall, the stiffer it can be. The rim is ALWAYS going to be stiffer and thus deform less. So a shorter sidewall gives you more rim and less rubber.

What a taller sidewall gives you is a better ride, and allows the sidewall to be part of the suspension. It also allows for more impact from bad road surfaces (rocks, pohotles) without reaching and causing damage to the rim. If round was better, you’d see it in LeMans, or Porsche Cup Racing, or on every hypercar out there.

Tread width and rolling resistance affect kw/miles and thus range. The BMW i3 had short sidewalls to look cool, but was a skinny as a bike tire.
