Ok, admit it. How many people are like me and actually looked up the price of a Tesla Semi to see if you could make it your daily driver???
You know the saying if you have to look at the price you can't afford it.

To me this was the opposite. Just seeing a Semi, I KNEW I can't afford it.

This particular Cybertruck was left abandoned on the side of the road in N Cal. due to a problem. Note the stamped steel lower control arms on the RC Cybertruck. I assume this is a rear photo considering the road orientation. Tesla most likely chose steel over forged aluminum to cut production costs.

Story here…

I think I posted these of the prototype at The Petersen.

RC CT with 4 battery packs in a row vs the original build. Venture a guess how many cells are in production version CT?

Based on the Rivian R1T which has a 135 kWh battery pack I expect the Cybertruck will have something similar.

I am guessing around 900-1,200 4680 cells.
Your 1200 is probably quite close. But that would yield just under 98kWh on the current known specs of 4680 cells. Figure the 10% Cyber Cell density, you're at 107.8kWh. If Cybertruck accomplishes a ~3mi/kWh efficiency figure - that 107.8kWh pack lands at 323 miles.

You're quite close.

I really like 1200 cells a lot, that is 16*75 cells x 95wh per cell = 114kwh pack...if CT can do 3 miles per kwh, here goes 380 miles nominal. To reach 500 miles, just squeeze in another 550ish cells:)
Ha! I just typed out quite similarly but a lower density.

So for 250K CTs/yr

• if all ~350mi variants: 300,000,000 cells/yr

• if 1/2 ~350mi, 1/2 ~500mi: 382,000,000 cells/yr

• if all ~500mi: 475,000,000 cells/yr
piece of cake! ?

Do we need a further 65% Cyber Cell density improvement to reach 500 miles ?

By those reckonings, Tesla VTOLs are next...or maybe we are underestimating cell capacity? Or ~3mi/kWh?
