We will see. Elon promised the truck will have tons of tech. I mean a lot.

RWS, possible steer-by-wire, super minimalist dash with no N/P/D or turn signal stalks, no door handles with approaching the door automatically popping open technology, etc.
The point is you can only wade as deep as there is enough weight to hold your car down onto the ground in the water. The only way to wade "deeper is to have a heavier vehicle with less floatation. You'd have to open the doors and flood the interior otherwise.

With ICE vehicles wading depth was harder the achieve that with electric, in particular you at least needed a snorkel for the engine air intake, so the engine could still breath while it was submersed. EVxs are easier to make submersible so also easier to make into a boat.

I think the auto open was cut
I don't think it ever had full auto open like the MX, rather all CTs have an electric lock that pushes the door open so you can grab behind it to open it. That same mechanism also pulls the door shut to get a tight seal every time so it can float.

I would love that door feature.

I also think the Cybertruck will be one hell of a pickup truck to steal. No door handles to pull on, no key cylinders to fiddle with and MAYBE Tesla Armor Glass will help contribute to the theft proof nature of the vehicle.

CT is on a lake, my wife is 'driving'.

I swim up to it, and the door opens.

I hope they think of everything :p

Another reason to have electronic locks, so that people can't open them when it's afloat. Windows only...which activates the bilge pump hiding behind the frunk. That's what I'm assuming takes up all the space there!! ;) ;)

It seems to me that the post title is incorrect. The Cybertruck is not in the water. It is a decent guess that it was in the water. Maybe the title should have been "Cybertruck likely just exited the wade tank". Next time please share the video if you have it as we would all love to see it.

The Rivian is designed to wade up to 39” of water.

You just KNOW that Elon gave marching orders to his design/engineer team to beat that number and be best in class.

The new CT washer.
A shop vac will be a must. Bring some space saving bags to save space and to keep your stuff DRY. Can double as Flotation. Winter time. Front and back.
CT needs a hitch on front and back.
Cybertruck needs to be the first come out with an electric jack. A tire change in five minutes.

Air jack is easier than electric, iighter and costs less. mechanically much simpler (suspension airbag) and can be used for off-road recovery as well. Larger surface area and easier to put under.

Vacuum bags will likely be denser than water so wouldn't provide much, if any floatation.

I think we well get a front and rear hitch or at least structural attachment points.

It already has what it needs for an air jock. It simply needs Jack mode. 3 wheels full suspension, 1 wheel full retraction. Viola, air Jack mode!! Kind of like shoeing a horse.
