I think it's a given that a stock Cybertruck will have better freeway efficiency vs. the Rivian R1T or R1S. Better city efficiency too.

It would be cool to have a zoomed in (minimal distortion) side by side photo to get an idea about the difference between cross sectional area. I think they are close in that regard. But CT’s shape including the mirrors definitely looks more slippery. The impact of BAW should not be that significant since it is more vertical than horizontal.

Rivian can disengage half the motors. Not sure the existing dual motor Teslas and CT have that already built in or not.

In winter it should be more of an appreciable difference since Rivian does not have heat pump and CT may let more heat in from sun with that giant front windshield.

With my Lightning having no heat pump, larger cross section and boxiest shape, I have learned to adjust my speed to close the gap and use more of the seat warmer in winter but if I had to chose between better aerodynamics and heat pump, I would go for heat pump.

Maybe it has something to do with living in Southern California, and not having that cold of winter.

But I'm the opposite. I can't stand all these modern vehicles with giant frontal zones. Especially an EV without much junk in the front. Designers need to take advantage of that, and reduce the aerodynamics with slippery front ends. I am glad the CT has a smaller Frunk. Sure a heat pump would be better than an electric heater. But, aerodynamics crush range at 75mph. Even though I'm 67 years old. I like using adaptive cruise and driving as fast as I think I can get away with without getting tickets.

Boy was it disappointing to see areas with too much distance between Superchargers on the map, and red zones telling me I would have to drive below posted speed limits! I'm one of those people that think posted speed limits should be minimum, not maximum speeds.

on longer trips and on the highway, I am with you. Heating energy per mile goes down as you go faster but these days, I drive slower and in back roads more often. My normal weekly drives are often between 30-50 mph and I get 3.2-3.6 mi/KWh. Even on my weekend trips, I am usually at or under 64 mph. If I had to make meetings in a rush all the times at 80 mph, I would definitely go for aerodynamics. It looks like it does not have to be a choice with CT. You can have your cake and eat it too.

Not a fan of wraps, prefer the stainless. Seeing this makes me want the dark tinted windows with stainless! That would be badass

I wasn't really considering a wrap but the SS seems overly shiny / blinding in many videos.
This is one I'd consider.

Both R1S and CT seem to be riding low but CT looks slightly lower, I am very curious about high speed consumption. I think CT may do better.

My 2023 R1S with 275/55R21 and aero wheels averages around 2.3mi/kWh @ 70mph (0 grade) running on 2 motors (Conserve mode) instead of 4, and with the suspension on lowest setting.

I always thought the Cybertruck looks most impressive and futuristic when you see it in regular traffic among other 'regular' cars -- like here.

RIS looks SUPER KOOL.
Wonder if CT could run 3.1m/kWh avg. to 60mph (?) DownUnder, our max is 110kph... but that's rare

True, but you are in control of the music, mute is your friend, but once the video is taken in portrait mode, there is no going back unless you want a low-resolution video that has been cropped to telephoto perspective.
