being a huge fan of ct and 4 years of a loyal member of this forum, i’d say it’s been 4 years and the design ends up like this is pushing me away.
i’m not the type who REALLY NEEDS A TRUCKā€, but i’m disappointed by this. Parts are not mounted, rain water not directed only seal is blocking the water from getting in, no shock resistant.
i cannot imagine what if i had an accident in front. also, it’s not about frunk being huge, it’s about ā€œable to useā€.
i know ppl here basically not allow ct being said any wrong, but i wanna be real.
I’m with ya but there’s one thing I learned a long time ago building things for people, it never looks right until it’s done. Knowing how your house is put together takes away the magic of just moving in, when you know all the behind the scenes it never looks as perfect to you.

One of the biggest frustrations was customers saying, (like I am with these pictures lol) aren’t you going to do this…or this!!!??? Then I would politely find a way to say. IT ISN’T DONE YET!!! lol!!

there’s a little difference btw huge and ā€œ not able to hold a backpack ā€œ
it’ll hold plenty of back-pack / grocery bag shaped things.

trust me, probably more than anyone here I’ve been interested in understanding and managing expectations of what the Frunk will/won’t be

it’ll be more or less half+ the volume of a Lightning (eg ~9+\- vs 14 cubic feet), and obviously differently shaped

Tesla Cybertruck Closeups!! Dual Motor Cybertruck shows frunk open, alcantara headliner, perforated seats, rectangular steering wheel, VIN # (8/31 pics) D30932EA-D70C-4CC3-8AE3-5E8F51C959A8

which in one hand means, yes, it’ll be different and smaller than the Lightning frunk

but on the other hand, that puts it in range of eg the Rivian Frunk, but designed far better and more useable in terms of access and loading / unloading

also, the CT’s width and shape relative to a Lightning means that for some applications it will be more useful - eg, the Lightning’s shape is such that no long gun would fit, while the CT’s shape means at least some shorter barreled rifles and shotguns will fit

if your electric truck needs turn entirely on the need for the largest Frunk volume on the market, then you’re stuck with a Lightning

if instead your electric truck needs are more multi-faceted, then one has to look at the rest of the feature list

Unless it can carry junk my wife finds on Nextdoor, it doesn't matter.…………..I'll use it to pick up that occasional king size bed I didn't know we needed…………I just need the bed to haul junk that will undoubtedly be replaced in 6 months.
Dude, I feel your pain. On the positive note, this Forum has saved us a ton of money we would have paid a therapist. And we don’t even ask each other ā€œhow do you feel about thatā€

I think CT’s Frunk is bigger than it looks in a lot of photos. It may be even more useful than Lightning’s frunk because you can put longer items in it. Just look at gold areas bellow to get a feel for it:

The seats are freaky. It feels like Optimus is hiding in there:

Based on similar dimensions of other trucks, the true perk of the CT is aero benefit and residual air volume of the cabin… might be beneficial if boat mode doesn’t pan out.

Keep in mind Cybertrucks shape was a function of range and efficiency, not storage capacity. If you need tons of drunk storage, then you need a 200 mile truck. That space costs in aerodynamics. If you need more miles, you’ll just have to throw your stuff in the back.

A friend in high school had a Porsche 914, and his girlfriend called it a frunk. I graduated HS in 1980.

For what it's worth, the 914 front trunk was really big for the size of the car.
Sure, it's an understandable connection just like if a fork has three tines I call it a threek. 'Nuff said. I graduated High School in 1962 (my mom had a Corvair).
