That half the Cybertruck hood is under a sloped windshield is material difference when looking at aero.

The vehicle front volumes might be similar but I am sure the Cybertruck is still smaller but just as important the coefficient of drag (Cd) is much lower with Cybertruck because of the more angled hood and windshield. Cybertruck might have Cd closer to 0.35 while Lightning is closer to 0.44.
you’re talking to the wrong guy

I never said anything contrary to the CT having better aero

I was *talking* about your claim that because of the better arrow, the Frunk had to be smaller

Two objects both have an interior volume of 10L; one of those objects is a cube, the other a sphere - which object has lesser interior volume?

I think certain manufacturers have in their mind what a truck is supposed to look like as they have been designed that way for almost a 100 years. based on pics we have seen of comparisons between front lengths between vehicles, they appear to be similar, but the CT slopes down significantly more and is more aerodynamic overall. should Tesla have sacrificed interior volume, bed length, aerodynamics, and efficiency just to make a larger frunk?

I think your argument that finding a space and making it useable is misguided. There was an engine there. Now the engine is gone. What the hell else were they going to do with it?
In 5-10 years we will have great range without the need for .35 cd. I suspect a van will be the best truck.

i think i can express my frustration with people comparing the CT frunk to a Ford frunk without caring about frunks in general. I am pointing out that they are two different vehicles with two different design philosophies.

i am glad you are happy with your lightning and the frunk that it has to offer. I think Ford making EVs is great in general, i just think they have some catching up to do.
I don't think you can express frustration endlessly when comparing the known size of a Ford funk to an unknown sized CT frunk. Please wait to complain until the dimensions are known, maybe you'll get some sympathy. Also, you could start a thread to complain about the hypothetical frunk size so people who want to engage in that can, and the people who want to talk about other aspects of these pictures can do so here.

I wasn't complaining about sizes in general if you read any of my posts. I was commenting on how others are negatively comparing the CT frunk size to that of the Lightning. You are right in that we don't have exact dimensions which is what it is. I'll leave it alone. We'll let Munro sort it out.

Can anyone understand these brakes? This looks like no master cylinder I’ve seen. No hydraulic lines visible. I don’t know what else you would need a fluid reservoir for in an EV.

Looks like coolant to me. There's water based coolant for the thermal management system, it's not all pressurized gas exchange.

Oh, of course! The size of all that crap in the frunk is objective and definitive evidence of a "robust climate control system" and therefore it justifies the lack of storage space.

JFC.
I would rather have a robust HVAC system with Biodefense mode support than a few more litres of frunk space. I still have the entire bed. I am not a frunk hater. In fact I use my frunks constantly and am looking forward to the CT frunk, but it looks to me from other images as though it will be just fine.

I have bad news for anyone hoping to get a rear wheel drive “Entry Level” Cybertruck. The only Tesla you can currently order with rear wheel drive is the Model 3, which may very well lose that option once the configurator is updated for the new Model 3 Highland. There was once upon a time a promise of a rear wheel drive Model Y, and I suppose they did make a small handful of them, but their basically unicorns, and the planed RWD Model X never happened, Model S also lost its RWD config. back in late 2017. Frankly the number of people who truly want a 2wd truck vs 4wd truck will be such a small minority that it probably won’t make sense for Tesla to produce a 2wd variant anytime soon if ever. Maybe in a couple years when the sales hype wares off there might be a small possibility of a striped down work version of the truck, but I wouldn’t be holding my breath, especially seeing as none of the competition is offering 2WD even in their basic work truck configurations.
