There is a literal Zoo of different Model Ses. Different years, battery sizes, different numbers of motors.. It will be no different with the CT
don't move the goal posts

we're talking about what's being released on Nov. 30

saying "things could change after that" is really uninteresting

Was lucky enough to spot the Cybertruck at the supercharger in Mojave, CA. Just when I pulled up a tow truck arrived. Apparently the truck wouldn’t charge. I spoke briefly to the engineer who was a nice guy and relatively open. . .

I parked my F150 next to it, but in all the excitement, I didn’t get the best pictures.

Also, the CT looks bigger in person, definitely a full size truck.
. . .

Compared to your truck how different is it, dimension-wise? A little longer? A little shorter? A lot more narrow? Nearly identical in length and width?

? ? ?

Your description of the CT is pretty vague without more contrast/comparison of what you noticed, beyond it being truck-sized. If you see it you have to drop those deets, man.

Elon has to get a CT poking around the mid-Atlantic. I swear to God. Tesla acts like crossing the Mississippi to the east-coast is harder than landing a rocket.

If the CT shows up within 150 miles of D.C., and I can get to it, I promise you are all going to have a full blown article with "near" specs, and detailed descriptions with comparisons down to the smell. Because of what I do, I actually carry a loupe, depth gauge, measuring tape, and protractor in the car.

I desperately wanted 500 miles of range, that is why I reserved a Tri Motor back in November 2019.

4 years later, I still would like it, but I realize the industry (Tesla) has not advanced battery density and efficiency enough to provide it with out making the Cybertruck super heavy by stacking and jamming it that massive battery. Which also would push the price up even more, maybe another $8-$10,000.

Sigh, so I am expecting about 350 miles of range....

On one hand, I do genuinely apologize for and dislike those sorts of vibes coming for me.

On the other hand, right back at you: if you genuinely disbelieve me, you could just as easy move on rather than pounding the table for a request that makes no sense, and attempting to publicly soil my creditability.

So, how about we both just move on to being our better selves.

For my part, I'll continue more subtle dog-whistles to the few I know who are paying attention and doing their own critical reading.

For your part, just go on quietly disbelieving.

PS: the only time I uttered "those that know, know" was in response to someone implying that no one on planet Earth knows (not even Musk), therefore no one here could know. I wasn't speaking of myself, I was speaking to the silly assertion (by someone else) that it would be impossible for anyone to know anything.
I didn't say I disbelieve you. I said you have given no reason to believe you. There is a difference. And what you're talking about is actually worse. This is an owners group club. You're trying to create a clique of subtle "dog whistles to the few". You are dividing the forum and trying to present yourself as elite. If you want to have a secret handshake and your own language, do it in a private message. If you have things you want to share with everyone, do so in the forum.

Sorry, i think you are the one that's not following. I am aware that " that the CT 'performance' referenced by musk *is* the tri motor variant being released on Nov. 30 "

What i am saying is the performance model is not the plaid model.
I've never said there is a "plaid" cybertruck - you've misread/understood something

I said that the "performance" cybertruck is to the base cybertruck, what the Model S Plaid is to the base Model S, including the difference in # of motors (the former having 3, the latter having 2)

and just the same, the Model S Plaid and base Model S both have the same pack, so the Model S Plaid has slightly less range than the base Model S

Totally on the same page. I just don't want to end up settling if they "know" something is coming in the near term . . . Beyond 18+/- months who knows but shorter than that and I would hope they would be level with us. They certainly have the "reservation" volume to sell to those who do not want to wait or do not have a Long Range/500-Mile use case in the interim.

I went through this with the Rivian. I placed a reservation ($1000) for a Rivian MAX PACK R1T in April 2019. They keep pushing back the release for an R1Ts, then when they finally were releasing their first versions, they pushed back the 400 mile Max Pack version, and brought out the 300 mile version first.

They pushed the 400 mile version back again. They they raised the price for it, while at the same time dropping it from a Quad motor to a Dual motor. Still had to wait more time for it.
I throw in the towel and got a Ford Lightning ER.

Rivian obviously struggled to get it rated for 400 miles. I believe the Battery is 180 kWh 400 V lithium-ion.

I think the price is $94,000 with the Max Pack and Adventure package.
