I don't currently worry about bullets, but I'd sure love to have a windshield that doesn't chip and crack from tossed up rocks!

Had my wife's Model 3 Windshield replaced in my driveway by Tesla. During the install I mentioned to the glass tech that I have a reservation for the CT.
He said he understands there will be an option for bulletproof glass. Now that is interesting!
I think he is taking a comment by Elon to Rogan that anything is optional, which I took as a tongue -in-cheek comment, because he also said that if you had bulletproof glass it would not be able to roll down. The tech probably heard it filtered many times.

We shall see what we shall see. Being the Tesla windshield and glass tech guy, I give a little weight to what he had to say.

Ok, but let’s think about this realistically. You can stop a 9mm, you can stop a 45ACP. Great. I don’t think it’ll stop a .357Mag, .44Mag, .454 Casull, .460, .500 S&W mag, .50AE, or ANYTHING from a rifle From .223/5.56 and up. heck, I don’t think it would necessarily stop a .17HMR or 5.7. So, you’d have to add to the doors and where the midgate isn’t. Yes, the SS will absorb some of the energy, and with the windows not rolling down, there may be enough room to layer some Kevlar and Aramid in there to stop most common rifle rounds. But now we are talking some SERIOUS coin.
