I'll put the zoom here as well...

It doesn't help though. At what point do they turn a line grey? You know what I mean?

It looks like 90 at first glance. But if they turn a whole line grey at a time that's close to a 9% margin of error possible depending on how they programed it. It's between 290 and 330 still in my book

This has to be dual motor. Promising 500mi range and delivering 300 would be devastating in my opinion.
Not unless there were two battery packs for affordability:

Tri-Motor - standard range 300mi $83,990
Tri-Motor - Beast Mode 500 mi - $93,990

Dual standard 300mi - $67,990
Dual Long range 500 mi - $77,990

Could be much less if they are willing to accept single digit net profit margins on the truck.

Will know TMR!

@cvalue13 has been telling u guys. The three motor variant that's allegedly coming in is not the one that was promised in 2019. It would be somewhere between dual and tri from 2019.

That tri may come eventually but not rn

Maybe Tri-Motor because of the white interior?
This

This is almost certainly tri, evidenced by the white interior trim.
At this point, white trim does not confirm tri motor. All the showroom units are dual motor with white trim.
What? There is no evidence at all of that.
That white trim = tri motor for retail units is not 'debunked' - it's how it goes (unless Musk/Tesla change their mind between now and when retail units begin delivery, which is still months away)

An entirely separate matter is whether (A) the showroom units, or (B) the delivery event units, or (C) any 'founders'-edition units after delivery, have special/unique trim/features that wont be found or available on retail units.

So back to the original post photo and whether this specific unit is dual or tri: very few white-trimmed units currently exist, most any with dual motors and white trim are showroom units.

So, it's most likely he's sitting in a tri-motor.

That will only be surprising to anyone who is under the delusion that the tri motor being released will have a different/larger pack than the dual.

PS: this and the last few days are big media prep days at GFTX, with people getting their footage, etc., for being able to release once the embargo is lifted tomorrow. Would make sense that Tesla puts guys like this in front of a tri-motor, so that they can talk about how insanely fast it is.

EDIT...

This is a screen grab from a previous look at the display. Looks like it either does half bars or smaller increments.

i'm just pointing out that people incorrectly confuse these showroom unit configurations (or the delivery/founders configuations) with what us plebians will be able to option/order

that said, I've always said from the start: that while the retail tri motors are the only ones currently planned to give available white interiors, that is obviously a constraint that can still change based only on an internal marketing decision (unlike, say, a last minute addition of a midgate)

I'd say the line is visible for the 10th you're charge is closest to.

100%-95% = 10 bars (100 is closer than 90)

94%-85%= 9 bars (90 is closer than 80)

And onanon.
It could be lit a little bit. Or it could be light bleed. I guess we won't really know until launch

This is perfect. When they launched the truck the dual motor version was supposed to be 300+ miles. This is 90% at 265. So 294 at 100%. This may be in commute setup. Which has some of the batteries capacity limited. If in range driving setup with more capacity unlocked I bet it’s upwards of 350-400.
