They might sell 20,000 FS, then send out another 200,000 emails and sell another 20k
Nice way for them to add 20/40k to 5% of 2.4 million reservations

As far as the March timeline for FS............anyone not taking that with a grain of salt?

They should, if there is a market.
A month from now............
"Hey we see you are 1.8million on the reservation list and you will likely get delivery after 2030, would you like to pay $20k and get your truck in 2025 instead"

Think they would make some money doing that, and make quite a few people unhappy.

Those who take the FS opportunity are the ones likely to have ordered within the first few minutes of launch in 2019 anyway. Therefore, the more likely to pay for such a price. To them, kudos and enjoy it. Not sure if it disadvantages the regular orders as others claim. Me? More money saved for a downpayment down the line... ???.

Here we have been mad at scalpers on this forum, turns out Tesla wanted the first crack at it ?

I’m honestly having a hard time finding source of it being limited to 1,000. I don’t want to watch a 20 minute vid of someone ordering their foundation but if Tesla has ever publicly stated this was limited to 1,000 builds and then sold them after, then switched it to anything else that’d be the shittiest thing I think they’ve ever done, and I don’t believe they’d do it.

Don't think it was ever officially announced by Tesla as 1,000.

So technically 200,000 would be a "limited quantity" of FS trucks.

Pretty good strategy.
Announce "limited" but without stating what the limit is, let people assume or rumor 1,000 and then sell 200,000 of them to the 2.4 million people on the wait list.

Now this one I would absolutely believe. And rather than be salty, commend the 21st century business move.

I know that’s shitty but if they sell, they sell. Tesla understands walking the line of satisfaction with customers, as there’s evidence of them getting better at it over the years.

I'm not really inclined to believe a rumor from a random person on reddit who talked to a random Tesla rep.

Even if the person from reddit is telling the truth. When do Tesla reps ever know anything? Last I checked, the average person waiting for their Tesla knows more than the average tesla rep.

But I doubt it's 20,000 for a limited edition at launch. Considering I don't think there are 20,000 people that will be dropping an extra 20k for their truck. I think they would sell the 1000, maybe even 5000, but 20000 is a stretch.

I think this will be something we all look back at and laugh at in a few months.

Reps never know much more or less than you as the consumer, and for timing they are further off than a roll of the dice.

Service people are not the front end people at the desk. The people that actually do more than type. They know things. One never see them. They sure don't want to see you.

I'll be honest, this rumor has me pissed if it's true. I've bought 2 other Tesla's and had a tri motor CT reservation since day one. This is the first vehicle they're making that they are not honoring their release pricing (a 50k difference mind you from OG release pricing to foundation series), not nearing their initial release specs (shorter range), and now saying that they value customers with deeper pockets, over me, a very loyal customer. Don't get me wrong, I still want a CT, but it might be time for me to weigh other options in addition to the CT.

I am going to be pissed too! But I know that the Tesla reps know little to nothing and much better info is on this forum.

Agreed, but also the most demand they have had, may be looking to cash in on it
