Getting furious over here. Now there are multiple example of people with reservations behind mine that have gotten invitations to order. I am in CO and have 2 reservations. Stock holder, owned multiple teslas.... WTAF

Tesla has made this among the most disappointing things in my life. After 4 years of excitement and waiting patiently they f^%king skip me??? WTF! It wasn't free either. I placed $ down 4 years ago for my spot in line, and they are straight up passing over me. I am furious.

Seriously... WTF Tesla.

Anyone else just baffled about what is happening here?? There are not confirm CO orders that are 10s of thousands behind me in the queue. My heart is broken.
Just throwing this out there. Perhaps it’s because you made your reservations while you lived in Hawaii even though you now live in Colorado?

maybe the CT res system doesn’t sync with your Tesla account even though you’ve updated it?

you don't appear to know it's history that well

and the fact that you dont have an invite yet, is self-evident proof that you do not understand whether you "tick absolutely every single box"

here's an example:

at least one RN that has received an invite/order. is an RN that is much later than either yours or mine
the person with that RN is a xwitter cybertruck influencer fanboi with neary an ill word to say about Tesla nor the Cybertruck
just based on this thread you've posted, you not being a xwitter influencer is at least ONE box you don't check

here's another example:

other RNs, outside of either CA or TX, have received not just invites/orders but even their trucks, because they are e.g., the parent of Tesla middle/upper management
there's another box you haven't checked
And in these and another half dozen ways, people receiving deliveries outside of CA and TX, people with later RNs than you, etc., may have each and every one (or even with some glitch exceptions), been touched by a golden hand not yet interested in the fact that you own a few cars and shares

it's a truck. it's a corporation. neither care about you the way you care about them.
This is a reach, and you know it.

Are you claiming that all those in CO that have gotten invitations are influencers and Tesla employee's parents? You and I both know thats not true, and is not the reason all these people are getting invitations in my state and area while I am not.

How unbelievably stupid would this be? A company with all those brains and talent. If this is how they are doing things... From where the order was placed 4 years ago... Might explain why FSD isn't done yet though.

You may be on to something now. Perhaps Tesla is really that dumb...

BTW I have purchased a MYP this year, in CO. So its not like they do not know or have the info on where I actually live now.

my message is very clear

im not claiming all of them are

im also not claming those two features are the only two features that Tesla is considering

im also not claming that Tesla is paying as close attention to the details as you wish they were

on the contrary

I'm only point out that YOU are being ridiculous to suggest that you have NO differentiating factor compared to ANYONE and that Tesla SHOULD be following the details as closely as you are, because you check "every. single. box."

zero stretch to that point

I understand and share your frustration; we've all been waiting a long time. But now, as CT's finally start rolling off the assembly line, is not the time to get exasperated and stalk each and every one of Tesla's deliveries to see if a few reservations with marginally higher numbers than yours get the call to order before you.

It was never suggested that the reservation number would be a one-for-one to the order of delivery. There are a lot of factors that play into that such as:
  • What trim you ordered
  • Your location
  • Whether your state allows direct to consumer sales of vehicles
  • How many orders in close proximity (number-wise) are also in close proximity to you (geographically) as they will want to send several at a time, not just one or two.
  • And yes, whether there are certain VIP's that need to get it before you (in Tesla's eyes).
While that last point is what is likely the most irritating to you, from a business stand-point, it makes complete sense. Tesla doesn't market, so they want to get the truck to people that will market the CT for them.

If you want the CT to succeed, then you need to want Tesla to succeed, and sometimes success means doing things like letting high-profile individuals get a vehicle first so that they can, in turn, show it off to their followers.

At the end of the day, Tesla has designed a vehicle that we could not have imagined, brought it into existence, and is now producing it right here in America by Americans jobs (which is not something that can be said about Ford, Dodge, or Chevy). They've earned the right to do what they need to do to make this thing financially sustainable and profitable.

Rather than look at it like a negative, try to find a silver-lining; use this as an opportunity to put away $1500-$1800 into savings (more or less what you would pay per month to lease the CT) and then put in a bigger down payment to reduce the monthly payments (or don't and keep the excess cash for something else).

There is also now a confirm 78 in my area, and those are just from those who have entered their details on this forums tracker page. There are plenty, many more that do not frequent this forum.

I am not "in there" they have passed me over. They didn't send me an invite, or give me an option to order while possibly hundreds all around my order number, and well above it got invited to order.
The only 78 I see was a 12/8 invite. Look at the invite column. I ordered as soon as the window opened. I didn’t get a reply till 2 days later. 160000 in line. Quit complaining they’ve just gotten to your groping

Based on my interpretation of entitlement by the OP, yes, I’d put ‘em in a box for an extra 30-60 days if I had eyeballs on the reservation list.

Doubtful Tesla has that much manual intervention in picking which reservations are converted to configuration offers.

Known variables include: CA or TX resident. Employee of Tesla or one of the many Tesla companies.

Unknown variables or degree of weighting in proess to convert reservation to configuration offer: RN number, Tesla product ownership, $TSLA stock ownership, buyer location other than CA or TX, proximity to service center with Cybertruck-trained technicians, social media presence, complaining on Cybertruck Owners Club forum, etc, …

Wednesday 12/20 I stopped at the Superior, CO service center where (Kimbal Musk's?) Cybertruck was seen. Pictures on this forum. The sales associate played dumb when I asked him if the Cybertruck was still on site. No acknowledgement it was there Sunday. I imagine retail staff is kinda burned out on inquires and like many of us, the production ramp can't come soon enough!

Let me guess, did you get your invite?

RN11279xxxx also waiting in Colorado. One mile from main delivery hub @Aurora, CO. One current (9/2023 purchase) and two prior Tesla's on my account. Early adopter Starlink and Tesla insurance.

For me, it would be nice to take delivery March-May 2023, but would also be helpful to get $12,500 tax refunds/credits. My 2021 tax return allows me to do so, but 2022 tax return will not. I just "squeak in" for qualification criteria.

Patience, grasshopper. All good things (lower interest rates, if financing; higher stock market returns, if investing) come to those who wait.

Much more respectful with the follow up. Thank you

Lots of people are waiting. I get that. I don't get why someone why order numbers 10s of thousands behind mine would get an invite before mine. I know a couple first hand that are not active on these forums. Rivian guys, that have gotten the invitation. None of them have had a single Tesla thing ever, and their order numbers are well behind mine.

Much of the reasoning members here are throwing around are just not. Tesla is without a doubt skipping some and preferring others. This wouldn't be as big of an issue if these reservations were not $ down reservations. We all paid for our spot in line, and waited 4 years. There is 0 excuse for the way this is being handled. Tesla is just shotgunning this whole thing, and its not a good decision.

Absolutely everyone here should be able to agree on that. This should not be a controversial take.

All this angst (stamp your feet and hold your breath) is pointless. I also ordered very early but never expected that $100 bucks was good for anything other than a "possible" early get. I was promised nothing specific including price. Elon once responded to a question about the best time to buy a new model vehicle and he said, either initial production when the line speed is slow and QA is high or, wait till production ramp up is over and vehicles are flowing out of the machine that makes the machines.

I have decided to wait until CT production is stable and optimized before placing an actual order with a real down payment, not a chump change "Reservation" fee. They should be more readily available and, not have that stupid Foundation order up-charge. In fact, I'm pretty confident that I will be able to get a DM model for $65-$70K in 2025-2026 and I'm fine with that. In the meantime, I'll be driving an EV and enjoying all the benefits that affords.
