I got an email yesterday asking me to complete my order for a founder edition truck. I don't want the founders edition, and there is no way to select a normal truck. What happens if I ignore the email, I suppose I lose my spot in line.
No you don’t lose your spot… you just don’t get the early edition is all.

This guy is a straight up troll. Do NOT waste your time calling.
Thank you for the warning.

The specificity of the dates in those messages seemed too good to be true. I believe, based on my past Tesla experiences, that our next step is to be assigned a VIN.

Also, my experience has been that the SAs know very little about the manufacturing dates.

A counterpoint: Tesla does seem to be doing things differently for the Cybertruck... especially surprising to me was to learn that a few folks had already paid for their Cybertruck before receiving their VIN.

Those who have paid only did so because they financed

The OP said that the money had already left his account -- I take that to mean he paid 'cash'. Anyway, I look forward to seeing some VINs soon...

I placed my CyberBeast order already. I completed all the delivery tasks it let me so far. The next one is to "Schedule Delivery Appointment" which it says "we will notify you..." and the button at the bottom is grayed out. Final payment comes after that. And, I opted for Cash Payment.

Given that there was a post here saying that their final payment is complete, how did you get past the "Schedule Delivery Appointment" task?

Hope the question makes sense!

I was hoping we get a VIN 1st. I need to sell TSLA for my Cyberbeast and it takes 3 days to convert shares to cash.
I had to do the same and just bit the bullet and sold to have it incase. Worth the piece of mind to me but still annoying not knowing if it will be tomorrow or 3 months from now…or later even lol

Not sure why the OP has refused to clarify if he paid cash after multiple requests….

There’s no shame in financing OP ?

Cause he is lying. The next step is scheduled delivery then proof of insurance and then payment. They wouldn't have you pay before having a VIN that makes no sense.

It is pretty wild that Tesla is asking people to drop 6 figures on a vehicle we have been waiting 4 years for and still saying "we will let you know"
I think most people would be ok if it was 2 months out as long as they had some kind of idea.

In California, a “sale” shall be deemed completed and consummated when the purchaser of that vehicle has paid the purchase price, or, in lieu thereof, has signed a purchase contract or security agreement, and taken physical possession or delivery of that vehicle.
