I love to give Tesla the benefit of the doubt, but there are way too many features on this car that are "coming soon". Does it really matter to me because I don't have one yet? Not really, but most people would chew any other automakers head off for this.
Would you rather it have taken them another year or more to release the truck to the public, or get the truck now and fine tune it as we go along?

But it's been around for years. Same tech. Whats new really? Steer by wire? Been there done that in off roading for years. Nothing new here. Lockers are ancient tech too.
In order to achieve safety, reliability, and useability standards, they tend to highly refine things in testing first before sending it to the general fleet. This is simply how Tesla chooses to operate, and I fully agree with their strategy. It makes them far more nimble and quicker than any other OEM.

This is a completely new platform and it will take a while to really refine things. I'm happy they chose to limit certain aspects instead of us waiting an untold number of months/years. Don't you? Are there seriously any deal-breaker features that you can't go without for a while?

During announcement, Everyone was told that FSD would be delayed by the Tesla team

Lets just hope the locking diffs are not going to take as long as Rivian's tank turn....
With software tank turn can be performed on CT. So much to do in future. Anything is unlockable and programmable. Rubicon here i come!!

That's because other manufacturers NEVER add any features after a car ships.

My Model 3 didn't have heated rear seats when I got it. They came a little bit later.

Would you rather Tesla wait for all the software features (except of course FSD) before they ship the car, or would you rather get the car ASAP with maybe a few features missing?

Of course the truck doesn't have all the new features that Tesla will add over time.

A Tesla is a horse of a different color!!!

Oh come on… y’all are making all of us Fanbois look stupid. Diff lockers don’t need fine tuning. They need an on/off switch!!!

If Tesla wants some tech heavy torque vectoring program, that’s only applicable when the differential isn’t locked, let ā€˜em fine tune some limited slip system for that. But ā€œlockedā€ is locked. And when we need locked, just lock it. ?

And you can be sure that you will get all the features in the Rubicon on day 1. But never any more.

There you go thinking like an ICE owner.

You can't "just lock" the rear differential. Remember, there's two motors back there, each driving a different wheel. Sure, you could maybe lock it and shut a motor down, but you probably want the power from both, which means a little more work than "just lock"
