Once the gear on the Molle straps are loaded and overlanding happens, it will become very interesting. (Like his RIVIAN)

I personally am looking at getting a small travel trailer (sub 4000 lbs GVWR) to which I intend to use the CT. A few trips a year.

I wonder how it will do.. if I can get 150+ mi of range on an 80% SOC, that would be great. That would be about every other Supercharger (on average) according to the Googles..

With a trailer you are likely going to be under 100 miles of range at 100% state of charge with a travel trailer

What I learned is. If you are doing a cross country road trip, dont use an EV truck. (right now)

Yea, unfortunately the CT (and other EV trucks) do not have the range or charging speed for road trips, trailering, hauling, or going say 90 miles or more from your home.
They need BIGGER battery packs OR better charging, having neither makes them unsuitable for most truck activities other than quick town runs in your local area it seems

Not all trailers are the same.. I’m patiently awaiting the data to support this.

Yea the range extender is just such a non-elegant solution, chewing up the tallest/largest portion of the vault, and the charge rate would likely stay the same or slow. Really wish they were shipping the CT with a 180+ kwh battery to solve some of these shortcomings.

It may or may not.

On a long road trip, a Cybertruck plus range extender would likely make fewer stops than an otherwise similar Cybertruck without a race extender. On the other hand, the charging time per stop would likely be longer with the range extender. It's not clear if the combined effect will represent a significant overall improvement.

The range extender will likely chew up an equally large percentage of the available payload, which could limit the options for trailers due to the need to accommodate tongue weight.

Plus we need to see what the lower amp 800v charging looks like. Whenever that comes out

People keep saying this, but when it hits the actual batteries it’s still only 400v per side of the split pack that’s put into series at that point. It shouldn’t make much of a difference if any .

I'm thinking that the heat savings can keep the charger and the car from derating so fast. Stay at peak speed longer. And if the limits are only because of software, they can hit 350kw like they've mentioned and get more juice faster.

I wouldn’t count on 150+ while towing a trailer, at least not without the range extender.

Hoping it’s the opposite. Depending on how it charges and the weight of it, the Range extender should allow you to stay charging at 250kw for much longer, giving shorter charging sessions because you will gain kWh much faster.

S Seems to stay 50kw ahead from 30% soc to mid 40%, that’s huge!
