Worst or good ?
It is stupid to pay $20k extra just to get the truck early , there are better things to do in the world instead of fulfilling the greed of corporations
12k FSD, 3k bidirectional charging, 2k tires… 3k foundation premium… plus a few other things that add up to 3k lol. “Hopefully “ they honor $7,500 FSD.. if they solve it… FSD could be worth 50k… Then your CT is only 50k … not too much of a gamble ;)

in response to the original post, I’d say be sure you want it. Even if no resale penalties, a lot of value of the $20k FS seems purposely non transferable.

Wondering if yearly tags will also be higher, if based on the additional $20k and if Insurance might be higher with certain co’s.

yea honestly not huge fan of the $20k foundation markup. Not a huge fan of FSD as it is. Won’t use the home power share thing either. They definitely know how to squeeze out every last drop for people who have been waiting, ughh!
If you're only going to be out $250, and it sounds like Foundation Edition is not a good fit for you, by all means, there is no reason to do something stupid. I think it would be a shame to take delivery and feel like you wasted your money, especially when there are plenty of people for whom the Foundation Edition makes more sense and who would jump at the chance.

No need to push us all back by one if it's not a good fit for you and might make you regret it. You can look at the $250 as an entertainment fee while you were enjoying the prospect. Once it's no longer fun, get out!

Which do you think is more truck and paying 100k + for a truck in not a common thing no matter how much you want it to be

Why are you comparing the Cybertruck to an Ford F-450 with dualies?

The F-450 is definitely more truck, and if you're talking looks, it's definitely more, ....more ugly that is. I could overlook the ugliness if I needed more truck, but I don't - the Cybertruck is already more truck than my F-150 in every respect except for the bed size, which is 6"-12" shorter (depending upon how you measure it). It's false economy to get more truck than you need just because it looks cheaper upfront.

The Raptor in the link only EPA rated to get 12 mpg, about the same as the F-450. They both suck gas and they will struggle in cold weather to even get that. Most of us don't need that.

Foundation was super easy to justify for me - PowerShare is one of my main uses. And is hugely more useful over buying 123kwh in powerwalls, with the added ability to drive off and find a working SC to recharge my house. The included PowerShare equipment is $3-4K in value.

FSD is a great value when it actually fully works in 3 years. For the truck I can easily seeing keeping it a long time. Versus owning the sedans where it’s much more likely I would sell before it’s really functional.
I may swap to higher efficiency tires to get a real world 280/290. Will see how it goes.

I think the question I would ask myself is "in 2 years, if Tesla offers a better(*) Cybertruck (which they will), would you trade-up and likely pay another $30-50K?" If the answer is yes, and $30K is too much money for you to blow for 2 years of fun then wait. If the answer is no, and you will drive that truck until it drives no more then don't wait, just get it now, have fun, don't look back.

(*) "better" depends on your needs but to me, better means 500+ mile EPA range. I do believe there will be such an offering in a few years once Tesla gets in front of the battery demand

Our service advisor has told me our Cybertruck is in Cali and should be ready for deliver anyday.

Anyone else getting cold feet on accepting delivery? Reviews seem to be mixed. I keep going back and forth.

Ive wanted this car since it was announced but what’s another year at this point right?

anyone else feeling the same?

Not exactly, but I assumed I wouldn't be assigned a VIN until September at the earliest and now I'm rushing to try and get financing lined up. I didnt even bother applying for a car loan, just put it on cash. I've got an investment property I own outright I'm trying to set up a HELOC with a local credit union, but I'm worried I won't get it closed in time. I'm in VT, so maybe this will buy me a month, which should help. Otherwise, I might have to trade my 2022 Y LR in in order to make it work. It would really help if I knew even what month I’d be assigned, but it sounds like it’s a huge mystery at least for now.
Tesla Credit will approve you eight away

He's not paying 20k to get it early. Maybe you're entirely unaware the FS included a variety of accessories and special badging as initial production. Kind of trollish to equate it to greed.
