Finally took delivery yesterday. Mostly still in disbelief. Huge shoutout to the MDR delivery team who made a big deal about it with lights, a fog machine, and a whole presentation. (Side note: Kimbal Musk's Vin #0 was parked next to mine). Interestingly it came with almost 40 miles on the OD. Apparently all of these early builds go through extra testing at Giga Austin to work out any potential kinks.

Build quality is perfect. No panel gaps or mismatched panels to speak of. Feels really solid generally, better build quality than my F-150, Model X, and even your average modern Mercedes. Nothing compares to actually driving the real thing. All reservations or concerns I had vanished once I was behind the wheel.

Also, the AWD is fast. Really fast. Feels much quicker than a 4.1 0-60, makes me feel good about not getting the beast.

They didn't lie– the fingerprint marks are no joke. I didn't want to wrap it until I saw how bad it really is. Considering doing Tesla's clear satin PPF.

Headlights are plenty bright. I personally don't understand what people are complaining about. The headlight angle is also fully adjustable (yes, they're adaptive).

The drive-by-wire feels intuitive and natural, there was no learning curve as others have mentioned.

Hoping everyone gets VINs soon!

Is the video in the first post working for anyone? I tried 3 different browsers and no go.

I wasn’t aware they had a clear satin wrap, but I’ll definitely get that after hearing so much about the fingerprints. How much are they charging for it?

WOW! That is one of the better examples of the Cybertruck out there. Panel gaps look greats and the vertical streaks/smears by the door is minimum.

I hope to be as lucky as you when my beast arrives.

Also, another WOW!!! on the frunk. Looks perfect in these pictures.
Huh? My observation has been that basically all of the customer delivered trucks look very tight and well-built, at least as good as the present example, given the limitations of the photo resolution and clarity with which to delve into close-up details.

It sounds like you are saying this is not the case when you say, "I hope to be as lucky as you when my beast arrives."

Yeah, just look at the other customer pictures out there. Frunk and door gaps are not even. There's color tone differences on the same plane such as sail, rear, and front doors (ignore the colors on the frunk and doors below because they're not on the same plane). You can still notice it on wrapped CTs. Take a look at Dennis' Red wrapped CT. Its hard to tell once its wraped, but the reflection is not at the same angle as other panels. His front door is slightly lighter in tone (ignore the shadow cast by the side mirrors). Here the driver door up top is either not closed all the way or it doesn't sit flush with the rear door so the light reflects differently. His trunk has a wide gap that this OP doesn't have. Since I have not seen his truck, I can't tell if it's the video playing tricks or it's his truck. I know the 3 different CTs (Buena Park, Riverside, and UTC) I've seen in showrooms is a mess.

Looks like the OP has a near perfect truck which I hope mine is like that or by the time Cyberbeast is out, all CTs are like that. My Model 3 was under 1500 VIN and the panels are a mess. I took delivery because I couldn't wait. Even if my CT is a mess, I will still take it. Can't wait any longer.

Most of the frunk and door gaps seem pretty even on all of the customer delivered units. That makes this delivery normal, not "lucky".

You demonstrate a real misunderstading here when speaking of the color differences (reflection angle differences) between the doors and adjacent panels.

The Cybertruck is not slab-sided, the panels adjust angles as they go from front to back to a more aero shape. The truck is widest near the middle and tapers slightly narrower towards the front and back. This is intentional, the panels do not lie on the same plane, that's why you see a difference in the color of the reflexcted light.

I was under the impression we were only discussing customer delivered vehicles, not the early ones shipped to various showrooms around the country.

I will guarantee you that the OP's Cybertruck is far from perfect, as it's a manufactured item. It's just good enough that any variations are inconsequential. The closer you look, the more you will find. But I really don't think it's accurate to say you have to be "lucky" to get one this good. The photos are not high enough resolution, or taken closely enough, to even judge that objectively. That was my main point here. Most of the customer delivered trucks look this good when looking at photos taken at similar distances, lighting quality and resolutions.

If so, why is the front door different than the front fender, rear door, sail?

Yes, but all customer delivered CT look like the ones in the showroom except this OP one and another one I just saw. There are other posts here where people took delivery and you can see the different colors. Looks just like showroom trucks.

The photo above depicts a different surface finish or texture applied to the driver's door, not a difference in angle as the reflection of the wrapped Cybertruck exhibited in the photo you posted earlier. And I have no idea why the door is finished differently from the rest of the truck as I have no backround on that particular example.

You will always be able to find exceptions in any manufactured item, my claim was most of the customer delivered trucks are looking very tight and well-made, you don't have to be lucky to get one that looks as good as the OP's truck. The pictures were not even close enough or with enough resolution and good enough lighting to say it was particularly good.

BIG congratulations, my friend. May I add, from the bottom of my heart, I'm so jealous I could scream (screams into the shrinking Cybervoid). Godspeed CHC.

I still stand that I wish to have the same truck as the OP and it's random. I'm just saying from my own experience. This still happens with the refreshed Model X falcon doors. I had to reject my 1st X Plaid. It became an inventory car and I had to wait another month for a VIN. Most people won't notice on curved surfaces, but this is a bigger problem with flat surfaces. Elon also mentioned it. It's a known issue to him.

Not everyone's truck look like the OP. Here is another one delivered 2 days ago. Still bad door colors and frunk not sitting flush. I also have seen a customer truck in person 4 times. He goes to the same breakfast place as me for coffee every morning.

Cropped out the background so it doesn't give away his location. He just got this on 1/14. The doors are off by a small degree so not as noticeable. Rim covers come later. Tesla seems to have a supply issue with them so it didn't come with the truck at delivery.

Here is SuSu's truck. I think delivered on 1/11. You can see the angle on the door is why off. I bet the rear door looks different color if you look at it at 90 degrees.

Here is fonzooo's truck. You can see both doors are off slightly and not aligned. His is the 1st truck I've seen with both doors in different color.
