and no you are not getting more of everything you’re getting less range and more cost. These are the items that the majority of the buyers want I’m sure many would trade 2.60 to 60 times steer by wire four wheel steering and all the other cool stuff for the original promised range and price.
Personally I wouldn’t trade those things for more range simply because range is not necessarily what I need. As far as price goes, for better or worse, it’s not an issue that I need to consider.

the CT AWD has roughly the same range as my 3 and I don’t tow. I gotta believe there are a significant number of CT res holders in this same camp.

That being said, I can see why there may be some disappointment with the range of you were planning on towing long distances. I feel like the range will come eventually. Just maybe not the truck for the towing crowd right now?

Yes, five years to six years I placed my order within 30 seconds of being able to on lunch night. I have yet to receive the invitation to configure so for me it’s looking like five years and I imagine six years or more for many let alone anywhere close to the price point originally promised. Look up bait and switch if you don’t understand the concept

Price will come down. Range will get slightly better, not sure about the range extender. I would rather not have the OG with a ramp in the tailgate, no outlets in the bed, no powered frunk, door handles, etc. Range of 500 sure, but was never as simple as “hey add batteries and viola! Big range”

But steer by wire, powered frunk 48v architecture, 4.1 seconds to 60 is plenty for me.. the truck has everything for my use case I could need … *i would love about 60 miles more of rated range, but ??.. no way i am buying another brand EV truck or a gas truck so…

Hmmmm. I wonder who that was…?

I got my hand slapped by the mods for calling him out again btw. I promise to be better, mods! Much love to y’all!! ?

Also super excited for the CT! That being said I also understand some disappointment from those hoping for better. I think Tesla has done the best they could with what was available to them right now to get the truck out.

Theyll just keep getting better and better like all models as they go forward. Cheers!!
Ya i had to go full ignore.. it was too much.

My thought is they will only be able to make 20k to 30k trucks this year. And easily will be able to sell them all as Foundations.

The truck is one of the hottest products in a while and there's still people that don't even know what it is.

They could sell these at double the current price if they opened it up to everyone and disregarded the reservations.

They put the 1 year no resale clause for a reason, they won't have retail versions for at least a year.

Ya i put “disappointment” in quotes because disappointment is fine, but one poster stated this was the biggest disappointment in his life… i mean come on! Haha
I am disappointed they didn’t hit 500, but i got over that when many smart people on here basically said it wasn’t going to happen (physics, financial, etc)… but i am still fricking excited! Unfortunately, i am late to the game from all you OGs and don’t expect my truck till 2026 ???
I feel for you there on the 'Mainland'......
Imagine all the Aussies holding their breath (!)
.......I just have to remember to take a gulp of air every so often. Even if my res for Oz is ~100 to 500, (~75K Worldwide ) RHD has a way to go before being announced.

In the earnings call they said demand is off the hook. In fact they supposedly pondered raising the price. Yet some here think Tesla is going to reduce the price (by selling non FS). Does that make any sense ? They are literally saying we have no reason to sell cheap at this time.
You are right. Elon clearly said that he contemplated to increase the price further. I think they won’t reduce CT prices for the next couple of years. At this point, waiting for a lower price next year feels like a wishful thinking. The only benefit of waiting is to flush out any minor improvements.

I now really doubt they can even delivery all ordered FS this year. For the sampling, in this forum, there are over 1050 orders, but only 20 being delivered. for this rate, all delivered FS seem like all hand made, there's no way they can deliver all ordered FS.

If you want a Cybertruck by 2026, you'll need to buy the Foundation series. There will be plenty of buyers for it for the next 2 years of production.

After that, the regular version will release for those people who could not afford to spend the additional $20K for the Foundation series.

I’m hoping that they are actually building the 40-60/day but are distributing them further hence the lag between build and deliver. Maybe in the next week or two we will see the last 2-3 weeks of production start being delivered to 40-60 regular customers per day across the country. If we do see that, then I’d say they are probably on track with the plans for delivery (i.e., 1-2k by the March/April timeframe). If in two weeks we are still seeing individual delivery threads with an immediate four pages of comments because they are still so unusual we will have a good indication that we are in for a long year of refreshing the app to look for a VIN that isn’t there.

The $20k markup is being overstated. I wonder what percentage of Tesla owners don't buy Enhanced Autopilot? At $6k, I imagine nearly every Tesla buyer adds the option, or else you might as well just buy a Honda Civic.

Sure FSD hasn't delivered on its promise, which is why the take rate for the $12k FSD package is so low. But $7k FSD (if you preordered), versus $6k EAP, it seems like a no brainer to pay $1k more. I suppose someone who really hates FSD may just pick EAP, but I don't see the logic. With the other $13k of FS stuff, if you don't own a home there's a much greater lack of value and I won't debate this other stuff truly feels optional. But the real FS markup is $13k.
