I called Tesla and they confirmed that it’s already been built and been shipped out of Texas with a ETA to Dublin (NorCal) of 2/10. Hoping to pick it up next weekend.

I'm supposed to pick it up today but with the rain and wind in the Bay area I'm feeling like it might not be a good idea. The power also just went out here and the wind's strong enough to blow the trash cans around. I tried to text the contact and it replies with a message saying the service is temporarily unavailable. He was supposed to get back to me the other day and never did and is supposed to contact me today letting me know that the truck looks good or not. He said they do not check them until the day of delivery.???

13 days since VIN was assigned and no contact yet for me. Good news is my loan offer expired and I had to reapply. Got a lower rate this time.

Call and ask them where your truck is.

I texted them through the text number they update me with and they stated the following. They have been awesome for communication through texting with me.

The vehicle is still in Transit to Fresno, should be at the dealership within the week, once it arrived you will be notified to make an appointment.

Looks like I will be picking up from Fresno!

I ended up going today but I passed on it. There were several light scratches and then one deeper scratch on the right rear panel. They said they can't fix those. They have to sand it down and then you can always see where they sanded it down.

There were marks on the driver door panel where the suction cups may have been and it looks like maybe they tried to clean them. They didn't look like the clear outlines of suction cups like I've seen in some pictures, just big dark areas.

There were some alignment issues with the metal trim that goes above both doors and there was also water inside the storage compartment in the bed and in the outlet inside the bed, both have rubber seals. Someone got too aggressive with the power washer maybe.

On the right side of the front trunk, there was also a larger gap when you can see the rubber underneath. The left side looked good but if you moved it to make the right look good then the left side would be off. I tried to see if it had the little adjustable rubber feet that I've seen on other trunk lids but they looked fixed.

They were without power by the time I got there but they said they washed the truck but it had all sorts of debris from trees all over the truck and I couldn't even really tell what other marks it may have had other than the few I found. Very disappointing. There was mud underneath and there was also rust coming out of where the hubcap or the center cap would go. I'm sure that's from the brake pads but it looks pretty bad. That's how they want to deliver it to me.

Not sure how folks are going to deal with this ongoing but a good amount of the debris was in between the metal and the top and back of the truck from beginning to end. I wouldn't recommend parking it under anything that has small leaves or debris of any kind.

I'm not sure if they left the window open or something, they did wipe down most of it but in the cup holders behind the headrests in the back side panels inside, there's a nice layer of dirt/dust.

No, I assume they just offer the truck to the next person who's more forgiving. I'm not sure. Maybe that's why so many people are wrapping them. They just want to have the truck now and don't care about marks and scratches and whatever, they are just going to wrap it anyway.

Would be nice to know the VIN so someone knows it was rejected.

With the mud under the front trim, it looks like someone was taking it for a joy ride. I guess with all the rain it was possible from just moving it from a dirt parking lot.

I have never wrapped a car before, but this may have to be the first.

Just curious man, how long was your initial loan offer good for? Also was it from Tesla? Thanks!

I was surprised to get mine and I never received an email or was able to schedule anything in the app, they just called and said hey, come get it. They said they all come really dirty and needed a few days to clean it but I think that's BS. They spray them down and wipe them off before you get there and if there's no major/obvious damage they're not going over it and looking for scratches or scuffs. From the pictures of the factory I think that's what it is for the most part. Maybe they're not airtight or whatever but I thought they could wade through water etc. So I don't know why the interior is so dirty.

I've had the same thing happen at dealers before and told others and Tesla that I am willing to wait. Please check out the vehicle thoroughly. I had even mentioned the other guy on the forum that got one with mud and scratches. I get there and it's dirty and I don't feel like they did a good job checking it out. It just makes you feel like they don't really care or most people are just so happy to have the vehicle they'll be okay with anything. There's a Tesla dealership 20 minutes away but I had to drive an hour and a half to get to that one. You're paying a delivery charge, why isn't it coming to your local-ish dealership if you're lucky enough to have one close by?

The main thing is, they need to detail them before showing them to anybody. Wasn't just the mud or the rust in the wheels. There was a white film like smudges all over the black trim on the bottom. And you're sitting there looking at it, wondering if it's all going to come off when you get home and spend a couple hours detailing it the way they should have.

I was mentally prepared for bad alignment and certain issues. I had signed the paperwork and was getting in the truck to link it to my phone when my friend that had given me a ride pointed out the deeper scratch. Initially it had dirt in it, he thought it was rust but it made it look like the rest of the debris on the truck. But after we wiped it off it was a decently deep scratch. There had also been a slight break in the cloud cover and it just really made it stand out where we had totally missed it before. Once cleaned you can't miss it. Anytime you approach the vehicle you're going to see it. I don't know, just everything together, then the scratch and the fact that they can't really do anything about it. After about 15 minutes of hand ringing, I decided to walk away.

Both were from Tesla. First loan was approved on 12/19 and it ran out on 2/4. Renewed yesterday and got 6.49%.

I have bought 3 cars from Tesla and using my own loan the one time was horrific. So much easier financing through Tesla. Even if you can get a lower rate, I would finance through Tesla and then refinance.

Wow, that's crazy and definitely a messy factory delivery. I am glad you rejected it.

Question: If you reject delivery, do you get placed in the back of the line to get your next one? Or do you still maintain your place in line and are able to get another one delivered "soon"?
