You got it backward, the robot is just a different means of locomotive than the vehicles. No robot is required for the truck, that's what FSD is.

I have heard Elon talk about Optimus in the driver seat not just because of driving. I don't know whether he wants to add a robot for emergencies/accidents or because of regulations or something other than driving that would need a machine. Probably one of his kids might have said "parents have been driving kids to school for so many years and we need to change that", and Optimus was born! . Last time his kid said that for a truck, CT was born.

An intelligent truck/vehicle and intelligent robot seems a bit redundant but redundancy would/could bring safety to another level if it is done correctly, one does not conflict with the other and cause issues would be the opposite of safe.

Whenever I see people abusing FSD I laugh, because it's funny, yes dangerous, but not different than people putting makeup on or reading a Kindle in a Civic. But FSD is not on yet, so something doesn't quite add up in this video. Likely staged and it's off and just transparent Vision Pro. Fancy glasses. Funny nonetheless.

But yeah, the Apple VR goggles are not a HUD overlay, despite the appearance of "virtual eyes" in front. It can obscure your vision completely.
