My Florida VIN to delivery was 16 days, but I managed to secure a spot for expedited delivery because I needed to go out of country. Very thankful for that!

I would love to share, but what happened was I was deciding whether to go all out and share my experience from the beginning, but then I had weird thoughts it would slow down delivery for whatever reason, because I had a configuration date before most in Florida did. I received a VIN around the same time another Florida member reported here that they got theirs, and took delivery also around the same time they did. From all of this I never contributed myself :( I was a leech lol

I don’t want people here to think I beat the system with how quickly I took delivery, because my stats would be an outlier. The VIN is 11xx

Meh i don’t think you should care what peeps here think. No one has much of a clue on what the big red eye of Tesla is doing with these orders, VINS or deliveries.

You got your truck and that’s cool man!!

congrats!

no one cares about your timing aside from a statistical point of view, theres others on here who had much shorter timelines. by not sharing those minor things it does everyone else a disservice. there are cases of some deliveries where the Service center called up someone waiting for a VIN and offered them delivery and VIN same day so its not like you are that special of a case. plus we dont need you o go all out, just the data points we track, RN#, config date, vin date and delivery date.

it looks like 2 already have been delivered in Ohio a while back per confirmation by a few others who asked the service center.

this also proves that crowd sourced tracking probably only represents a small portion of what is really going on as I bet other states not show on here have had some deliveries too as I would think most people want to keep this private or do not frequent forums like this.

that said mine is due the week of 3/4 and then after that I will disappear ;)

Anyone else feeling manic checking their Tesla App 50 times a day because Tesla doesn’t communicate anything?
People will tell you that you're wrong for wanting any reasonable amount of communication on a vehicle of this price... but at the same time say how the direct to consumer model is so good because it allows for this. Imagine if apple did this. You buy a new phone on January 10th, they said it will arrive between January and March. Zero people got it in january, zero people got it in february, and all along you had no idea if they still expected to deliver in march or it had been pushed back one month, 2, 4, etc. People would go crazy. But instead, if an apple product is pushed back, rather than just nothing being said to anyone, the delivery date which is visible in your account gets pushed back with reasonable notice. That's how a big company is meant to handle direct to consumer sales.

The wait wouldn't be so bad if they would just tell us the actual truth. Instead of saying "your truck will be delivered between 1 and 80 days from now", start with "your truck will be delivered between 60 and 80 days from now". Then, dont' mask that information so that if you didn't get a screenshot of the order page, you have no record of it. Finally, if something changes, push that back as needed. Does someone have to manually update every order every day? Of course not. But if there's some way to link a build date to an account like every other manufacturer does, or general ETA changes based on state, someone knows that information.

It's this deliberate masking of information that was used to sell us the vehicle, PLUS the lack of communication, that makes this a bad car buying experience. Like, even for a tesla purchase, we are being shown very little information.

Now I'll sit back and wait to be told how if I don't like the poor treatment, I should cancel. Rather than expecting at least the same treatment that someone who ordered a refreshed model S or model X got (being shown the ETA in their account after purchase).

Which SC? I would be Easton. Only at 50 days since order, how long were you?
