you already paid before delivery? If not, I suggest to hold it and bring cashiers check upon a delivery just in case..

During the earnings call, there was talk of the 4680’s being improved in terms of energy density but I don’t know whether those are going into the truck already or not…
oh, I see. no idea whats in my CT? If there is way to identify from VIN, let me know. I will check

If I find any info I’ll post up here. It seems very likely that our foundation series truck DO have a 10% energy density improvement over the 4680’s that were being out in the model Y’s. There is likely to be another density improvement coming, but I don’t know when and I don’t think it has happened yet.

The transcript of the earnings call on 01/24/24 includes the following references to the 4680 cells:

Q: What has been the barrier to ramping 4680 cells into multimillion cells per week rate? And when do you expect to get there?

Tom Zhu, Senior VP Automotive

Yeah. First, I just want to allay any concerns regarding 4680 limiting the Cybertruck ramp because I've seen some people commenting about that. To date, 4680 production is ahead of the ramp with actually weeks of finished cell inventory, and the goal is to keep it that way, not only for Cyber, but for our -- our future vehicle programs. And as Elon said, it is an S-curve here too. Like, it's -- it's hard to -- to predict these things, but I'm just describing our goals.

Elon Musk -- Chief Executive Officer and Product Architect

We do a lot of other things. And we got a lot -- we got a lot of, you know, breakthrough technologies that -- that take time to figure out with 46 -- it's not just that it's a 46-millimeter diameter by 80-millimeter cell, that -- that's just the -- that's just the dimensions. There's tremendous amount of new technology in the cell, and so...

Tom Zhu, Senior VP Automotive

And manufacturing techniques.

Elon Musk -- Chief Executive Officer and Product Architect

Yes, exactly.

Tom Zhu, Senior VP Automotive

And just regarding what the team was able to do in Q4, Texas successfully swapped Line 1 from the Model Y design of the cell to the Cybertruck design of the cell, which was the 10% cell energy increase I've mentioned before. And as with any major new product introduction, the factory and engineering teams collaborated to ensure quality of the new design, and the process changes as their first priority. And now, our focus returns to cost and production ramp in Q1. And in terms of what we're doing, we're currently running one production line, one assembly line, using two assembly lines in addition for yield and rate improvement trials. And we have a fourth in commissioning, and four more will be installed starting in Q3 this year.

So, definitely, this is a big year for ramping 4680.

Congrats! So jealous!

Can you compare the driving dynamics to your F-150 Lightning?

Also, the entry/egress differences.
I think if I were to close eyes while sitting in Lightning and CyberTruck, it would feel very similar, with the exception of the rear steering. Both feel solid, both feel like they weigh the same. Lightning i think feels a little stiffer and slightly more bouncing on rougher roads.

Making a U turn in CT is alot easier.

I've not measured, the but CT seems like it can squat lower (has a lowered setting for entry).... Lightning of course has running boards that i always use for entry.

Was pretty easy - they texted me and said truck is ready, when do you want to pick up. told them i was out of town and asked for day after i came back.... and they suggested a time and took care of that.
delivery day for me was pretty chill. showed up, they opened the truck, put the temp paper plates on, and guided me thru the app part for delivery... and asked if i had any questions about the truck. because i had driven teslas..... i preferred to just figure stuff out by myself.

This isn't the norm. Here at lyndhurst, someone I know had just ordered a new model S. They called on friday to say it was in, and didn't want to hold it until monday for him to pick it up. He had to threaten to walk to get them to snap out of it. But if it was a cybertruck, they would have told him to pound salt.

Some delivery centers will work with you, some won't. It just depends. Being a prior customer doesn't seem to be part of that equation either.
