Nice job. I will be bookmarking this thread.

From the video, if you are interested in purchasing these, reach out to Miguel at Midnight Garage: [email protected]

I don't have a truck yet so I am waiting for now but if someone gets a price, I would be curious.

Very cool. You're not going to find a better solution than this. Thanks for posting.

Won’t water go right in? If you don’t wrap.
I would definitely recommend wrapping it but it would not hurt to throw some clear silicone bead around it and then use a credit card to smooth it out to get a nice seal. Honestly I would do that even if it was wrapped. Should stop the seem from showing

They have not responded!
Yea be interested to know the price. I have some metal fab experience, SS is not real easy to work with but could see this going for $100 and him making a good profit, or getting hit with the "early adaptor" tax and being crazy expensive. Let us know what you find out.

sheesh, it does not cost that kind of money to mill and finish a piece of 304 stainless to plug that hole. Not even for just a one off.

If my truck ever comes and there's still demand, I'd make them for anyone who wanted them no problem. it's not a complicated part. Plus tesla gave the exact finishing specs to match the body panels. a few minutes in the CNC per part, 2 operations each, hit it with the orbital sander... Even if I bought the most expensive material in the smallest volume possible, it wouldn't be more than $150 per set. Even as a one off, charging 100% of the setup, programming, and run time to a single set, it shouldn't cost half of that.
