The problem is we are getting to a point where it's impossible for jan-march deliveries to actually be in march.

So like, all of the shilling you've done in the various threads have to keep changing. You keep going down a list.

1: Well it's not the end of march yet, it doesn't matter that transit time of 17 days is the average, you aren't allowed to be annoyed/worried/whatever until march 31st

2: Now that march is looking less likely for many people, you have switched to "Well they said they were doing CA and TX first, so you can't be annoyed/worried/whatever"

3: Next it will be "Well it was only an estimate, and they never promised they would go in order. So people getting 2 week turnarounds in CA is fine, and you should be thankful that you have the chance to give them money when they decide they want it"

People in any state are allowed to be annoyed that some CA orders have literally gotten 2 week turnarounds. This bizarre "tesla can do no wrong" self policing weirdness is something I've only seen to this degree with apple users. Oh your keyboard doesn't work because dust got under it? well it must not be an issue with a design that is susceptible to dust, it's your fault for not using it in a dust free environment.

Just let people be annoyed. We are all here together, in the same boat, sharing the same annoyances. It helps literally nobody to come in and say all of this nonsense to try to twist it to tesla not being wrong about anything, ever.
Well said.
at this point, I don’t understand why CA folks keep jumping over other states? Logistics wise, Tesla is going to have to ship the vehicles everywhere, so why not start now?
what’s the reason for continuing to ship to CA orders and skipping folks in other states? There are plenty of NC orders that could fill up a truck load..

Not really sure your context.

You want me to have empathy for the OP? Is that it?

I don't have my truck either.

I love it when someone says, on March 7th, that it isn’t the end of March yet. Although true, it suggests a train of thought that any time after March 1st is closing in on the end of Narch. I can assure you that Tesla doesn’t see it that way. They see the end of March as approaching on March 30th.

when Tesla gives an estimated delivery window it is based on what they know when the order is made. Anything can happen after that. Look at Giga Berlin. Could Tesla have predicted industrial espionage for people that ordered Giga Berlin Model Ys and given end of March delivery windows?

You have an order in and you are complaining. No sympathy from me, or likely, the vast majority of reservation holders, that are waiting impatiently in line.
People that have an order in, earned it by making an early reservation.
Folks that made a reservation months/years after the initial reveal that go around saying, “atleast you have an order in…..” need to stop that.
you don’t have an order in because you didn’t earn one. So go kick rocks with your comment.

My guess is they can only get a tech certified for cybertruck at each delivery center so fast. So they keep sending truckloads to the places already certified for it. And then those places end up with 10 or 15 just sitting there, waiting to be prepped and delivered, because that showroom can only prep so many so fast. As more showrooms get trained on the cybertruck, it should stop being the case that there are 10 or 15 sitting waiting for delivery while others have none.

But then, when you actually look at the other states where they do have trucks in transit, or just a couple of deliveries, it's not like now that my showroom has delivered 2 trucks, they have 15 sitting in the back ready to go. We know of 2 previous deliveries and 2 or 3 trucks in transit. So it's weird that we have (apparently) a tech who can do CT, and yet there were 2 deliveries in feb, and there will be a few next week. If we've had a tech trained for CT, I'd think they'd want to send more this way rather than bottleneck the other showrooms.

There's almost logic to it, but I can't fully get there.

I do. If nothing else they have trained service techs in CA and TX and not elsewhere, and there is NO question that they are experiencing early-VIN growing pains.

End of march is coming fast based on the average 17 day VIN to delivery time. Unless that changes drastically, March 14th is end of line for shipments to be delivered this month outside of places where they use a car transport rather than rail.

Also, I agree lead times can shift, but how can we know that when tesla specifically will not tell us? Any other vehicle of theirs, even a new rollout, they will give you an up to date ETA in your order details. Cybertruck? nah. you aren't allowed to know. The first indication we have that things *may* have slipped, are people who ordered 3/5 and were not given a "March-May" delivery, but instead were given "April-June". Normally that switch takes place in the middle of a month. And, again, if this information was in our order details, we would all know if things had slipped rather than just guessing.

That is an attitude that win win sympathy for sure. And my RN is not ‘months or years’ back, it is a couple days back. I do not see anyone that has any reservation number as having “earned it”. Not knowing about the Cybertruck and its features on November 22, 2019 is not a skill.

They never gave me an up-to-date update on my Model Y delivery. They revised the expected delivery only after missing the window, twice, and they gave me no advance warning when they did inform me of the impending delivery. I do agree that they could do a much better job handling orders.

i do agree they should start slowing delivery in places like CA and redirecting them to places that have no orders yet. and the "the service centers must need X" argument would be valid if the CT hasnt been on a slow train since 2019 theres no excuse for not having all that done already, but oh well, ill enjoy another month or 2 of my 5% interest on this 100k and deal with it i guess :p

For the people who say they can’t deliver Cybertrucks to centers that have no trained technicians that is completely BS. There is such a thing as online conference calls, FaceTiming, and maintenance manuals. This is not rocket science!
My timeframe is Feb to April. If they offered it right now I would say I have to delay because I have a home mortgage coming up at the end of the month. But if my VIN stretches into May they are personally see me down in Austin want to talk to someone.
