Electrifying Adventure: Towing an Airstream with the Tesla Cybertruck!
I *think* I added your data correctly -- purple rectangle.

52 miles - 46 kWh used
56 miles - 35 kWh used
=AVERAGE(893,638) - Wh/mi*
=AVERAGE(50,54) - MPH* [added this line to the orig post]

* I do realize I could have used a Weighted Average but the miles were too close to matter IMO

What's the highest range you've gotten while towing, by the way? Great video I watched it and I'm also subscribed to you on youtube.
About 900 wh/mile on those tests.
So about 110 miles if using80% of the pack
About 135 if going from 100% to 0% completely dead

Scott you are the man! I literally was dreading doing this spreadsheet. I really appreciate it. I’m actually filming my very first podcast episode tonight and I will be referencing this spreadsheet. So don’t be surprised if you get a shoutout ?

Damn, AS is 40% more efficiency than other trailers.
A little AS range estimate math:

For FSCT AWD, the EPA is 318 miles
during the OP test, the AS trailer is 6657lb, the max range is 160 miles

So the difference of 158(almost exact half, which pretty damn good) was sololy caused by AS trailer.

So for each 100lb of weight, AS trailer decreased the CT range is 2.37 mile.

Since all AS aero are very similar, we can roughly calculate the estimate range for each AS model, e.g

Caraval 19CB, its max GVWR is 5000 lb
So if trailer fully loaded, the max CT range is 199.5 miles, we round it to 200 miles.

We assume CT charge at 10%, stop at 80%, the CT only needs to be charged every 140 miles at highway 50-55mph.

I think the most distance between 2 Tesla superchargers now in US ( only very few) is 150 miles (correct me if i am wrong), so if you have a AS trailer weight under 5000lb, you can go pretty much everywhere.

Amazing data analysis ?? I think I’m going to do more Airstreams with varying weights. Also been thinking about doing a max range test where I really push the limits and get as close to 0% as possible ?

I won’t pretend to be an expert, but there have been a number of studies showing that the biggest hit to towing range is the aero drag, not the weight. So…. Given the relative similarities between the different Airstream trailers, I’d expect the 19’ to be similar to the 25’.

As an owner of a 25’ Airstream, I’m still happy about these results. There still doesn’t seem to be a ton of data (even from this video), but I’d be interested in running it pegged to 60mph and seeing how it does.

Appreciate you taking the time to do the vid and share the numbers for those of us still waiting.
With the towing #s it looks like you need a VERY efficient trailer if you are going to tow with the CT, people have been speculating about the airstream and nice to see a solid test.
