After roughly 3,500 miles I decided to take off my aero caps to see if they are damaging my tires. Ultimately I must decide whether I will continue to use them or not.
Good move pulling them off, 3,500 miles is not that much and those side walls are getting CHEWED
Sidewalls do not have anywhere near the thickness that the tread portion does, keep those aero covers off dude.

I'm concerned about the scratching on the wheel... they looked like the wheel itself was pretty scratched up or was that just dirt?

With the ease of removing the aero covers as shown on the video, what’s to keep people from collecting souvenirs when there is a potential fix?

They’re off for now. May look into modifying them at some point

I pointed the markings to Tesla Service and asked if I could get new wheels via warranty

Really? Pics on those markings or it didn't happen. Seems awfully wasteful to warranty wheels for something they will likely have in short order. Markings, not curbing or rash. Markings  Yet you might like garage queening.

Good stuff, thanks for posting that update, I didn't think they would eat into the sidewalls that aggressively after such a low amount of mileage "shocking" in your thread title may have been under selling it, no clue how these made it through years of testing to delivery.
