I did $0 down, 75mo @ 4.99% (was forced to do gap insurance for $500). Was going to pay cash, but now that can sit in savings and continue to earn 5%. If rates ever start to drift down again I will just pay it off, but like having the cash for just in case.

The only two reasons I took out a loan for mine is this and my last car loan fell off my credit report :(

Also try DCU, they are pretty good with financing Teslas.

Navy Federal tends to be more generous especially if you are Active Duty

Did you have to join an organization to become a member? I don't seem to meet qualifications on the site.

Life hack for you, most university credit unions allow anyone that is a member of the alumni association to join and most alumni associations will happily add you as a member if you make a small donation.

The same goes for almost any association affiliated credit union. This one is also by no means the best rate out there, just one that I was familiar with.

Help my ignorance here on the LTV topic, what are the scenarios in which one would finance a car for more than the purchase price of the car aside from wanting to get rid of a car you are under water on (dont see how this helps that though)?

Good question- I think for me I gave them the final cost but I guess its not the final cost until I get the VIN# so I can go upwards to 25% more if the final amount is more. So I incorrectly stated 125% of sticker price

It’s generally for folks who want to finance any add-ons (extended warranty, etc) along with the car. Also, if they have negative equity, they can roll that into the loan as well.

ETA: If it’s a hot car (Raptor, etc) with Dealer Markup, that can get financed, too.
